Hi Jaco W & welcome to the "offended" club. I used to make a point of wishing all the regs. a happy birthday until I started getting violations for that too! However, I am mostly fedup with the TD's person as even Porgie will agree, some answers are not opinions and do not deserve TD's! Like HeavyD I have also lost my TC badge but hey, if it makes some fool happy, so be it! Let,s all just stand firm and survive.
I was hoping 2008 would get off to a peaceful start for us here and enjoyed seeing all the 'home language' messages for a change. Hang in there my friend.

I agree there are some totally pointless categories in YA's we should be given a South African category of our own. I used to spend lots of time on this site until they started erasing questions and answers. Now its lost its charm by being over policed.

I think you will find they do not even read the questions before removing it. Some of mine was completely within guidelines, and still got removed.

Someone is having fun winding all the regulars up, obviously. Don't take it to heart. It is just not that important in the great scheme of things. ;-)

so sorry that someone actually reported this..Afrikaans is so similar to the Dutch language and if the person were knowledgeable in spoken languages, (other than English)they would have checked this first..jammer boet..it is just your bad luck...!! and for the person who reported you..'jammer boet' means "sorry brother" .. good luck!!

Jaco it is so ridiculous.....Last year I also posted an afrikaans message and it was not removed, so I think it must be some idiot on the SA site( that was on holiday when I posted my greeting) that removed your question! I agree with you we are being discriminated against but I am sure that it is only one turd in the drinkwater or one fly in the salve. Hee Hee I will have to be very careful now with my afrikaans.

hi julle!! i am english 22yr old female and my hubbie is south african.....i want you all to know we speak afrikaans in our ENGLISH house and are proud of it!!! Our baby (when it finallly comes out) will also speak afrikaans because we should never forget where we came from....i am born and bred english but learnt afrikaans before we got married, its only right our children will learn both languages!!!

What is wrong with talking Afrikaans? There is about 15 million people what can talk Afrikaans.

Maybe 15million can understand it, but I'm sure they don't speak it everyday or are fluent in it...

If there are 15million that can speak and talk it, I'm sure there are about 30million that calls it the language of the "oppressor" and will report it if you ask anything in Afrikaans in Yahoo Q&A... Sulke donners...

That is strange i have written messages totally in Afrikaans and they have not been removed. Maybe someone fancy's me. Ohhhh asseblief nie die diskriminasie storie nie, dit maak my sieeeeeeeeeeeek.:)
