OMG, Israel has had nuclear weapons for a long time, that is nothing new, but they like to keep in on the hush hush.
They are trying to maintain their "perpetual victim" identity. |

IF Israel indeed has nuclear weapons, and I say if, then it has proven that it won't use them lightly. In the Yom Kippur War of 1973, Israel was literally almost destroyed, yet no nuclear warheads were fired. The Americans in contrast used 2 just so that they wouldn't have to launch a difficult invasion, yet no one begrudges them their nukes. The reason why it is a big deal that Iran is producing nukes is because it is A) A suppressive undemocratic country that B) Publicly and frequently includes in its goals the desire to destroy another country (in this case Israel) while C) Funding various anti-West terrorist organizations. If Iran was instead a free democracy then things might be different. And so I say, yes, we should turn a blind eye to Israel and the Nuclear weapons, if they in fact exist. |

Israel's nuclear weapons are no secret. The US and others well knew about them long before Mordechai Vanunu gave his story to the Sunday Times in 1986. They simply underestimated the number, which at that time was about 200 warheads.
I met Vanunu three times in 2004 and 2005 and had my picture taken with my arm around his shoulders. It mysteriously disappeared from my e-mail account.
I could not see the video because I'm in China which totally blocks all BBC sites and links. |

No, we shouldn't turn a blind eye, but as you can see, it is the only way Israel can protect herself from her enemies. |

Israel is a democracy. Israel has *never* advocated that another nation be 'wiped off the face of the earth'. Israel gives the right to vote to Israeli Arabs. Arabic is an official language of the state of Israel. Israel protects the Muslim holy sites on its territory. Israel has *never* conducted a *single* military operation against a country that did not attack it first. Israel unilaterally withdrew from Gaza in the hope of securing peace (and was 'rewarded' with 1,300 friggin' *rockets* fired onto her territory).
The day the Arab states or Iran can boast a record like that, then people might stop complaining about their nuclear ambitions.
Not before. |

ran is a terrorist state that has proclaimed that it wishes to destroy Israel. Nuclear weapons would give them the opportunity to do so, heaven forfend.
If Israel does indeed have a nuclear capability, it will use it only as a last resort, after a first strike by some other power.
Iran is the biggest threat to the West today, and their military capability must be curbed by the West.
In addition, individual terrorists must be eliminated--if necessary by engaging them and killing them.
There can be no rational argument against this two-pronged approach.

Does Israel threaten to use them or call for other countries' destruction? Israel will not use its weapons unless it is under a most extreme of circumstances that threatens its very existance. Israel probably won't be the first country in the Middle East to use a nuclear weapon. I think the world should be much more concerned about your country, Iran, which calls for another nation, Israel, to be whiped off the map and has acted towards this end. |
