My mother taught me respect, ones values of live, how to treat others, baking/ cooking, sewing, morals and how to make a dollar stretch.
When you have been dealt with lemons, then you make lemonade ;-)
Skin is no colour in my mother's eye's, we are all one.
Give on to others and if not enough to go around then we divide it up equally, share it or spare it for another time.
Everyone of all walks of life were and still are welcome at our table, with plate set down for the guess.
You know Zim for all it's worth, I've stuck by this motto all my life and still will to the last day on this earth. While visiting this planet :)

Edit: One thing I forgot to mention is my mother would say when we cried about not being fair (as kids will do)
"If ever you thing you have it bad, then I suggest you take a hard look around my child!
The grass is never green on the other side, and by god don't you ever forget it!"

Most of life's important lessons came from my dad, my mom I guess was the person that brought the balance.

My dad would say: "Always remain humble"

and my mom would reply: "...but don't let anyone walk over you"

Mine taught me kindness, no matter how bad a person u must never be like them. But then again i think my mum is the most tolerant person in the whole world, she's almost not human with the amount of things shes dealt with and still remains kind to bad people that have wronged her. I still try my hardest to be like her....i dont think its possible.

Hence the lipstick on the windscreen of the person who parked on my spot this morning.

She taught me to not overreact, to not be indecisive, to not wallow in self-pity if the going got a little tough, and to not blame everyone else for any self-inflicted miseries.

She displayed all of the character traits I've just listed. I learned to guard against these pitfalls simply through observing her reactions to life on a daily basis.

My mom was so special to me. She taught me to be the best person I can be. She taught me to always have respect and be respectful. She taught how to be a good mother/wife and showed me how to be a great cook!

There's so much I can think of, but the main ones that top the list is love, respect, honesty and diligence. She taught me all that I am today and I'm proud of that. Mothers are so very special, even mother-in-laws! (I hope!)
