I told someone here before but in case you didn't see it-I once got an m&m peanut candy with a rat turd in it instead of the peanut. I got some of it out for the I.D. and then threw up the rest. |

In Africa last month I ate Ostrich, Warthog and Springbok...all delicious I might add.
As a child I used to eat condensed milk sandwiches and as a young man I munched a few muffs. |

Snails - yecch! Gritty, rubbery things that taste of nothing, unless you count the disgusting garlic sauce they cook them in. It's the same sauce as frog's legs, and they were a dead loss, too. Oysters - I agree with Lise. Horrid. And lobster - just the sight puts you off. Related to spiders, apparently. Google for "Camel spider" and you'll see what I mean.
I once had something very suspicious in a Chinese restaurant in Paris. They said it was pork... It wasn't. I know what pork tastes like, and this wasn't pork. Woof!
Managed to avoid horse, but I had some dry sausage from Hungary - until I saw "Donkey" in the ingredients. And I don't want to eat rabbit.
My neighbour was telling me that before the War, he used to sell his extra guinea-pigs to the butcher - he's French. They are the European equivalent of the Chinese. |

I have eaten Kangaroo steaks, ostrich, antelope ( which i have to say is the most Delicious beautiful mouth watering steak you'll ever stick in your gob) and sausages made from donkey meat (greasy and disgusting) and the more usual things like snails, oysters, lobsters etc, I like to be adventurous when i comes to food and one of my favorite meals is baby octopus salad but i'd love to go to exotic places and try stuff that british people wouldn't usually dream of eating, like candied insects and dog or cat meat and stuff like that, My in-laws ate whale meat in Japan once but said it was horrible. |

YAY i think I win this one hands down!! I have had Elephant Biltong! Yeah gross I know. We got it at the Kruger Park. They had to cull some ellys and instead of burning the meat they make biltong. It was very oily and very smooth textured. But just the thought of eating and elephant put me right off it. Threw the rest of the packet away.
Iv also had crocodile, ostrich eggs, kudu, blessbuck, water buck, wildebeest, warthog, oysters, sushi. I CANNOT eat snails, after I was a kid and played with my food.. and then put salt on a live one and saw how it fizzed. Put me off totally!! |

We live in Asia - I need not say any more. I have tasked but not liked : pigs blood, duck eggs ( - but they are half duck and half raw egg. Not quite matured so you have the half grown head, beak, feet etc.) Sheep/goat testicles, squid eyes, chicken soup (here you get the head, feet etc. We call it landmine chicken as they just hack it into pieces so you get bones and all) Fermented tofu - called stinky tofu as you can smell it a mile away. All of it was disgusting and I would never try it again. But at least I tried it once.
I forgot Maparni worms ( not too sure on the spelling) |

I've also tasted crocodile pie and crocodile stew, I enjoyed it though unlike one of the other contributors, have also tried Shark meat.
The only food to date I have found truly disgusting is Ostrich steak, gross, I would rather eat crocodile or shark anyday. |

Anguilas in Spain, baby eels, they are white and about the same size and shape as little earth worms (slightly chewy and I should imagine about the same consistency as fried earth worms - in case you were wondering.)
In Spanish restaurants they are very popular, cooked in a garlic sauce and added to your pasta.
In Italy (mostly in the North) there are many places that serve horse meat - Naaaaay I say.
Actually in the Mediterranean countries they pretty much pull anything out the ocean and eat it. Sometimes we buy the mixed seafood packets, whip up a sauce, add it to the pasta and Voila', hundreds of little alien looking specimens with many different appendages staring back at you. |
