According to my knowledge it's UAE or specially Dubai. We love Egypt the most and Egypt in general as a country is one of the best if it's not the best. That doesn't mean Egypt is the most modernized country in the Middle Eastern countries.

Egypt is the most special in the Middle East. Egypt the most lovely and civilized country in the Middle East.

Egypt is the country that sent Israeli prisoner of war in 1973 in a tour to see the Pyramids. This is how Egypt is civilized and modern.

If you mean modern because of their mentalilty it is Lebanon.

I have not decided yet about my answer, but I like to comment on people who said that Dubai is the most modernized country in the Middle East. To spend much and to facilitate investments is great and I admire Dubai for that, but is it correct to build ultra modern buildings that can be tolerated only if there is efficient air conditioning in an area that is all desert? The correct thing is to raise buildings that are suitable for the area and that can stay and be suitable and usable without conditions. What happens when petrol is all used up which will affect having generators for electricity? What will happen if there is black out? It would have been better if buildings were meant to last no matter what the conditions are. It would have been better if there were houses with facades and corridors around the house to avoid direct sun rays. In Egypt the houses built in the desert are suitable for the climate, they even have domes with small windows at the base of the dome. This allows the warm air to go up and leave from the small windows and new air to enter from the doors. In other words there is circulation of the air without even fans.

Well, I'm answering the question based on my knowledge, and I think Jordan is the most modernized because that's the only Middle-Eastern country I've ever been to and the last time I was there was 5 years ago.

2.Egypt
3.Turkey
4.All the othe north African ones ie the maghreb & Libya.
5.then maybe Jordan, Lebanon, Bahrain, Palestine, Quatar.etc

Countries like these have far to go culturally & developmentally ..Iran, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Indonesia Malaysia, Afganistan,Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan etc. & Yemen, Oman, Somalia (mainly bedouins there.)
