What Mobile Phone do you have and which one would you like? |
I am thinking about taking out a 12 month contract at Carphone Warehouse for a Nokia N95 with an 8Gb card. Its got 600 anytime minutes and 600 texts free for Pounds 35 per month. I fancy the SatNav and Internet options it offers.
Any thoughts? Additional Details Inno - My son had an N-Gage but he got tired of playing games. Now he has the HTC Meteo and he thinks it is "real cool." Do you have it in SA? |

LOL I have a some sort of Samsung - the cheapest available at Tesco on Pay as you go.
Not very techy minded, and I am still wowed by all the things a "phone" can do nowadays.
LOL Alf, I bet you found my answer most useful.
Never fear, I will find out for you if there is a better contract at Carphone Warehouse. It is not what you know, it is who you know. :-) |

I have a Nokia 6610i which is a million years old but it has everything I need on it and only costs me about ÂŁ20 per month. I cannot see the point in mobile phones that have Internet, sat nav etc, well, maybe if they invent one that does the washing up for you I might be interested! |

Hi Alf, I've got the Okta Touch which I purchased via Telecom in NZ, and which has proved to be quite popular. You can view it here:

My cellphone contract expires in August, I have a Nokia N70 and intend cancelling the contract and going pay as you go until we get to Aus next year.
I'm not very technical so I never use internet functions on cellphones, I leave that for my laptop!
35 Pounds sounds expensive, I thought telecommunications in Europe was very cheap? |

I just got a Nokia N95 yesterday. First thoughts are really good. I probably shouldnt have got it as I will never use 99% of its features but it looks good and feels quality and although it is slightly different to other Nokias I have had, it has that super easy to use manner about it that makes Nokia so good.
I spend ÂŁ300+ a month on my mobile and was leaving Orange when they rang me and offered me a mega deal contract and ANY UK available phone if I stayed with them. I hadnt got a clue which phone I wanted as they caught me by surprise, and I was more interested in the tariff. This was the phone the guy suggested as the one he would choose if he had the pick so I had it without even seeing it and took a chance.
Dont know if this helps? Shame you didnt ask the question in a month when I've had a proper play with it! Dont think you will be unhappy if you pick it though.
Regards.
Ps/ Just to add a note to what I wrote earlier:
Flamin' thing froze twice on me now! I'm sending it back and getting a nice and simple 6300 in its place. |

I have had N95 for the past five months...it's cool....
and yeah, HTC is now becoming common here......two colleagues have it and they are still excited......
I would recommend N95, though....... |

I'm not into playing games, surfing the net, taking pictures, vacuuming my carpet or making coffee with my phone, so any old model that can phone is fine. I had to check what kind of phone I have, now. It turned out to be a BENQ. I know I can make phonecalls with it. |

Heard about it, how much do you think it'll cost us here? Fallen is the one who is up to date with these things... it sounds really awesome, maybe I should get him that for his birthday- he's too tied to his Nokia N-Gage (voted worst phone in 2003) but has done so much for us.
I'm happy with my LG kg290, got 2GB card - happy with that. wouldnt know what else to do with the 6 more...lol!
I should google it now and see...
ADD
I am not sure Alf, I'll ask around. The thing with Fallen is that he has "pimped" it to a degree. He doesnt really play games on it. It does more than people are aware of - believe me. Only a person who enjoys building PC's would know. |

Im not too keen on the Nokia N-Series phones, I had a N70 they have all the goodies but when you use the the Navigation and Internet on these phones , they tend to "hang" and can cause other files on the phone to be corrupted, i lost all my contacts and e-mails, Vodacom here, said it was due to a software glitch on the entire N-Series (they replaced it with a Sony-Ericcson W850i) but im sure it has been sorted out by now... |

Hi Alf, I use the Nokia E90 Communicator, and I'm posting this using the phone. The Connection is almost faster than my Notebook. If you can handle a notebook comp or PC you wail be able to handle it, and you do need to bother your son. Not bad for an undertaker, what do you say. You can even post your answers while you are at your favorite restaurant eating Curry |

What I have is most likely the first prototype of Nokia, an ugly old grey thing. I only use it when I have to drive somewhere by car in case of an emergency. And that is good enough for me. I barely use the thing, and anything more technical would be too much for me to cpe with!! |

Alf I have 2, a motorola RAZR a pink one that I love and then this big square Nokia, with a little stick on the side( dont ask me what type it can do hundreds of things that I do not know how to do), for business. I just love the Motorola because it is pink......have 2 years contracts with Vodacom, all calls are tax deductible, so I phone a lot. If I can give you advise, get the Motorola, it is a bright, shimmering pink and very beautiful |
