What am I suppose to call the Palestinians?

Hi Mark,

Arabs calling themselves "palestinians" began in 1967. It is a name derived from lack of solid identity.

Like I have written before, Philistine means invaders. It is actually appropriate for the Muslims living in Judea and Samaria. After all, anyone who denys where they actually live, which is Israel, cannot be considered anything more than an invader. Those who recognized Israel have passports and live in peace. Even if some say that they live like second class citizens, like African American in the U.S., they are still allowed to vote, work, travel, and enjoy all social benefits.

Those who reject Israel and live among terrorists, can look forward to a life of walls, checkpoints and blockades. That is the harsh reality, which they have imposed upon themselves. Some did not like it here and have moved to Muslim countries or Canada. I am in Montreal now for the whole summer, and I am astonished at how many Muslims live here now - something I had never seen before.

Any Muslim living in Judea and Samaria who does not know how to live in peace can call themselves invaders- philistine. It shows us all what they think of themselves and who they really are.

I thought anyone living in the British Mandate was a Palestinian -- Jews, Muslims, and Christians -- until the creation of the State of Israel.

Ms. Miche is, of course, correct..The original 'Palestinians' (Philistine..changed to Filistine by the Romans) were rather unsavory bunch of Greeks..not Muslims..Palestine is a Political creation..It is an Agenda..Some have Wealth and Power (the Political Leadership)..Most are kept ignorant and are manipulated into hating and blaming..and doing horrible acts against other human beings...There have been several Wars..and the Arabs lost them all..It's real simple..Throughout History..The 'spoils of War' go to the Victor..In 'The Golden Age' of Islam..Muslims won the wars..for awhile..then lost Spain, and the rest..The Ottoman Empire ruled with an Iron Fist for centuries..then they Lost it all..So why would the 'Rules' change now? Israel has been very fair with the losers of the Wars..Wars declared on them by Arabs..'The Golden Age' Muslims and the Ottomans would have wiped the enemy off the face of the Earth..and did. My personal issue with 'Palestine Nationalism', is in the History..The Real History.

to be honest the correct term would be arab israeli because they are arabs living in israel.

Because the use of Palestinian makes no sense just like an Indian living in Zimbabwe claiming to be French and that Zimbabwe is his homeland. That is how weird it is.

The only people who have a right to say they are Palestinians are the Greeks, but even they cannot claim it since no one knows if they are an ancestor of the Phistines or not since there are no records.

Keep in mind that Palestinian literally means invader due to the real Philistines conquering Gaza.

You can call the "palestinians" Syrians since that is where they really came from

We, Tongans and Samoans, call "Palestinians" as Jordanians, since "Palestinians" have already own a country, Jordan...

and yet, "Palestinians" wants more lands, just like as other Muslim, for example, Chencyha, Kosovo, Pakistan, Sudan (Muslim killing Christian)! and etc!

I guess Jews don't want us to be reffered to as palestinians bcuz its like a diss on them, they prolly think when u call us palestinians u are not acknowledging their so called Israel...BUT we should be referred to as palestinians becuz its PALESTINE!!!!!!!!! This is where we are from, this is where my father was born and raised!! Its enough that we are dealing with a horrible occupation, people getting slaughtered everyday and their houses destroyed.....but now they want to get pissed becuz people want to refer us as palestinians!!! THEY HAVE NERVE!!!!!!

If they are Israeli citizens of Arab origin, you should call them Arab Israelis or Palestinian Israelis.

If they are Arabs living on occupied territories, you should simply call them Palestinians.

How about calling them "Palestinians" when they live in Palestine, and "Israelis" when they live in Israel and RECOGNIZE THE JEWISH STATE OF ISRAEL; otherwise, you can call them "Arabs in Israel".

call them what ever they want to be called, if there wish to be called pallestinian then call them that, its only a name....Palestinian Arab nationalism is largely a post-World War I phenomenon that did not become a significant political movement until after the 1967 Six-Day War and Israel's capture of the West Bank.

Call them PALESTINIANS bc that's what they are! lol!
If they deny their Middle eastern/Palestinian heritage it may be because they are ashamed of their land being taken away from them!

I'm really amazed at some of the answers here, as well as hurt and angry. For 10 months now I have been reading the answers that many people write. Many scream and repeat and repeat that they want the world to know that Israel exists. I continue to write that it does. Now how can these same people that cry for the world to recognize Israel, scream for the world not to recognize Palestine?
