Depends on the company I 'm with ....

Generally I prefer a tailored dress with the off the shoulder look , low cut back to show off my tapered shoulders , tight fitting to amplify my natural curves, must be black with matching accessories & to complete the picture patent leather shoes with stiletto heels.

Then , when I wake up in a lather of persperation ....it's , oh no ..... what have I done this time ! Was I dreaming ? Who saw me ? Panic sets in ......

I'm a bit old fashioned/classical: i enjoy being in my suits and i'm a firm beleiver that the way we dress can be a charming representation of our characters..not to satisfy others,but to feel good about yourself and to compliment/respect your date (ps:I also agree that its important to be comfortable):

My favorite suit/combo is a gray suit with silver stripes, that i like to wear with a sky-blue shirt and either a bright yellow or bright pink tie...gray socks, black shoes and sky blue shorts underneath ;-)

I'm more comfortable in pants and own very few skirts and dresses.
I love to be a charchou7a at home, but I like to dress up when going out, high heels, make up, jewellery...
Colour depends on my mood, I'm more into classic styles because I feel that at my age you can't get away with too much craziness.

Expensive doesnt mean chic..or luxurious.
For a chic restaurant, I should wear a long red dress, showing shoulders, high heels, and not so much jewelry.
Discretion in that......dress would be everything, and not so much ornaments needed.

it all depends on my mood,sometimes i don't feel like wearing a lot and taking care of myslef while other times i look for most expensive stuff in my closet with high heals and make up........
usually when im going to a fancy place i don't wear very casual stuff, maybe not a dress but i'll try to find something in between
