We've got a whole file on you at the Agency, boet. How much is the secrecy of your identity worth to you?...... Nah, just joking.
I'm an ex-military intelligence officer (no joke this time), ex-zoologist, ex-overland safari guide, ex-adventure camp host and now I'm clowning about in front of little Chinese kids in Taiwan, trying to teach them English.
Anybody got a job for a zoologist back home? Anyone? |

I am a language practitioner working as an English teacher at a private school in Seoul, South Korea. I used to be a community liaison officer for cultural groups in the Western Cape, but gave it up for a job in Pretoria as a language training officer for the then Volkskas Bank. Now I just live in Korea and try to save up enough money to get back home and start my own business! |

I work in the advertising industry as a copywriter, I work for one of SA's most biggest and well established agency.
I'm also with a casting agency and am a model/actress. I've only ever been cast as an extra.... I'm not big on getting leading roles or stuff, but I love it coz I'm quite popular with some of the other models and actors and am often the one getting into mischif during shoots...(",)
But writing creative copy? Thats my one true love... |

Im a stay at home mom with 3 small children.
I have done web design about 8/9 years ago, when we all still spoke in html, and I wrote out the code ... I didnt use the cute little cut and paste programs we have now.
Also Ive been published for my needlework in leading magazines.
Im hoping to finish the novel in my head and publish it ... but every time I start it becomes an autobiography and although my life is interesting ... I dont feel like reliving it. |

Temp work at the mo! I do IT administration/troubleshooting. I'm still saving up cash to travel...not ready to settle down yet!
I used to be a junior manager at a restaurant. I organised the functions: stork parties, kids parties, adults parties, weddings etc. Sadly too little pay, but it looks good on my CV ;o) |

I've done pretty hectic stuff, including modeling, which I can't tell you on which bill board I was otherwise you will know who I am.... and the idea of me being a 'secret" is actually exiting....
Well at this stage I'm working in the Sport Industry as a Events Coordinator.... Sometimes it is hard work, but I wouldn't want to do it for the rest of my life.
I plan to study fashion next year SO YOU WATCH THIS SPACE!!!!!!! |

In S.A. I used to be Credit Control manager for a bank. I will definitely not tel you which as my old clients might still hate me for repossessing their cars. In Portugal I worked in clothing factories (believe it or not) Ironing clothes and cutting threads from shirts, checking that al buttons are in place etc. Very boring.
While visiting my mom for 4 months, end last beginning this year I took a course in Dog grooming.(don't need to speak 100% Portuguese to dogs) I am now busy studying the complicated task to fit a van with electricity and water in order to start a mobile groomer as a fixed one will never pay in this place.
PS: If any of you clever guys out there knows how this Boer can make a plan let me know |

Used to be a sales rep in Jhb. Had enough and moved to Mpumalanga and opened a horse riding school. Love it. I'm fortunate to live next to a game farm so am able to take people on outrides and get really close to the animals. In Jhb I used to sit on the verandah and hear sirens. Here, all I hear are birds and the chatter of monkeys. Lucky hey. |

I studied and worked in Civil Engineering (Structural and Geotechnical - deep foundations) in and around South Africa until my early thirties.
I now live in South East Spain with my wife (we are with her family in Rome at the moment) where I do guided mountain bike tours and dabble in art.
I don't think I need to clarify which career I find more rewarding!
Where about you going, Doha?
There are plenty of South Africans there and just down the road in Dubai. |
