isreal has the best army and airforce in the world. the best educated and the best trained. now, terrorists dont have these customs.infact far from it. hezzballah foghters or anywon who is fighting isreal now is not a terrorist. but they are threatining to bomb the most heavy populated city in isreal. once this happens (if it does) they will be terrorists. TERRORIST :The unlawful use or threatened use of force or violence by a person or an organized group against people or property with the intention of intimidating or coercing societies or governments, in other regons and also often for ideological, religuse or political reasons.
so there you go, many americans and not just americans, many people say that the usa or there country should minf there oun bussness, however we are all up in israels face. and we are all also complaining about how isreal is attacking lebonon. when thats isreals home land and lebonons too. and the usa is attcking the iraqis homeland. and we complain about isreal. isreal is simply defeding themselfs. they fight battels every day and they still did before this war started. isreal is taking lebonon becuse that land that lebonon stole. and frankly if i was the leader of isreal or any country, if this all happend to my country. i would do the same. becuse hezzballah and every country attacking isreal is dangruse and is killing jews. so whos the bad guy you might say? the muslum fighters who are attcking isreal. they attcked first and also, are fighting to kill jews. isreal is fighting to protect themselfs and the jewish people. so there you go. isreal is the good guys. |

Israel is strong, brave, committed and smart.
Israel is rational, caring, empathetic.
Israel will not be bulllied.
Terrorists are bullies. Just like a bully on the playground. Terrorists will pick on innocent people, disregarding respect for humanity.
Terrorists are exactly opposite of what Israel is.
Bullies need to be hit hard enough to make an impact. Otherwise they'll just keep bullying.
Israel wants peace. Israel wants to negotiate.
Israel has fought long and hard to be who she is today.
Israel is civilized and fighting against an uncivilized bully.
Anyone who can't see this is either a terrorist sympathizer (brainwashed) or simply uneducated on the subject. |

If you really want an answer, why dont you go there yourself. I did, and stayed there for 18yrs. In order to understand something you have to experience it for yourself.
Why are you asking this question--check it out for yourself. |

Wow, you've received some pretty interesting answers to your question. I live in Israel. My family is involved with ALL of the different people groups here. There are many sad things that happen with both Jewish and Muslim Arabs and Christian Arabs. I've lived here for 7 1/2 years and a person can't just come here for a few days or months and be able to understand all that goes on over here. It takes time. |

It is a country like any other, with its ups and downs. The people are warm and welcoming, the weather is super, the mediterranean is beautiful. The beaches are great. There is good hiking and sight seeing. There are beautiful deserts. Great food. Fun cities. Lots of history and spiritual power.
Unfortunately it is a new country that was plopped down in the middle of a previously owned land. But let the past be past. The UN decided the jewish state should be there so it is. Lets get along with our neighbors shall we??? |

I love Israel
Its beautiful
The weather is great most of the year
The sea and beaches are amazing
The people are friendly and worm
The freedoms (all of them, speech, Assembly...) are exorcise to their extreme.
The people are educated
The night life is the best.
The only thing that Israel is missing - peace with its neighbors.
The Israelis are so greedy, that in spite of all the advantages I mentioned above - they want it all - they also want peace, they don't want to give up the only thing that this country missing!!! |

I hope my country supports Israel all the way. They have been our most faithful ally in the region. Israel has it tough because many Muslims don't respect their right to exist. Palestinians are taught in schools to hate Jews, Israel and the U.S. Mu hammed the prophet hated Jews because they refused to recognize his prophet hood. That Muslim hate continues today. I visited there as a child. It's a very beautiful place. I love the Jewish people and heritage because that is where I believe Jesus Christ came from. My experiences with Jewish people have been very positive. They are generally very nice people and usually very talented. |

Israel Is beautiful!!
It's a democracy, people there invent to most important things, best research, beautiful girls, and -
even though 22 Arab states are against them and want to take their tiny piece of land - the people are smart, funny & happy (between war to war...)

First, it is Israel not isreal.
It is a wonderful place with wonderful people. A country rich in history.
The old and new blend together to create Gods land. It is after all Gods chosen land and the Jews are Gods people.
By the way--there is no such thing as a Palestinian--never has been. That is a name tacked on during the British mandate byt the British.
The so-called Palestinians are from Jordan and Syria. Israel was a waste land with a small population of Jews and Arab no-mads that lived in peace.
As the jews brought life back to the land--Arabs began to come from neighboring countrys.
Israel with Jerusallem as its capital is a spiritual place. Once you visit it changes you forever. I went in 2003 and not a day goes by with out me wanting to go back.
Israel is in my heart and never has there been such bias and ignorance agaisnt a people as there is against the Jews yet they thrive in the land even with huge Arab countrys after her.
God will not allow Israel to fall again. God--that is what makes Israel so special--once there you can feel it.
Israel is no bigger than New Jersey and surrounded by Arab lands that are large--very large. Yet she survives even after all those arab nations have made war.
Think about it--this tiny land is loved the world over. Every nation wants a piece of her but God gave it to the Jews--like it or not. |

Israel's contributions:
The Middle East has been growing date palms for centuries. The average
tree is about 18-20 feet tall and yields about 38 pounds of dates a year.
Israeli date trees are now yielding 400 pounds/year and are short enough
to be harvested from the ground or a short ladder.
Israel the 100th smallest country, with less than 1/1000th of the world's
population, can lay claim to the following :
The cell phone was developed in Israel by Israelis working in the Israeli
branch of Motorola, which has its largest development center in Israel
Most of the Windows NT and XP operating systems were developed by Microsoft-Israel.
The Pentium MMX Chip technology was designed in Israel at Intel
Both the Pentium-4 microprocessor and the Centrino processor were entirely
designed, developed and produced in Israel.
The Pentium microprocessor in your computer was most likely made in Israel.
Voice mail technology was developed in Israel.
Both Microsoft and Cisco built their only R&D facilities outside the US in Israel.
The technology for the AOL Instant Messenger ICQ was developed in 1996 by four young Israelis.
Israel has the fourth largest air force in the world (after the U.S, Russia and China). In addition to a large variety of other aircraft, Israel's air force has an aerial arsenal of over 250 F-16's. This is the
largest fleet of F-16 aircraft outside of the U. S.
Israel's $100 billion economy is larger than all of its immediate neighbors combined.
Israel has the highest percentage in the world of home computers per capita.
According to industry officials, Israel designed the airline industry's most impenetrable flight security. US officials now look (finally) to Israel for advice on how to handle airborne security threats.
Israel has the highest ratio of university degrees to the population in the world.
Israel produces more scientific papers per capita than any other nation by a large margin - 109 per 10,000 people --as well as one of the highest per capita rates of patents filed.
In proportion to its population, Israel has the largest number of startup
companies in the world. In absolute terms, Israel has the largest number of
startup companies than any other country in the world, except the U.S.
(3,500 companies mostly in hi-tech).
With more than 3,000 high-tech companies and startups, Israel has the
highest concentration of hi-tech companies in the world -- apart from the Silicon Valley, U.S.
Israel is ranked #2 in the world for venture capital funds right behind the U.S.
Outside the United States and Canada, Israel has the largest number of NASDAQ listed companies.
Israel has the highest average living standards in the Middle East.
The per capita income in 2000 was over $17,500, exceeding that of the UK.
On a per capita basis, Israel has the largest number of biotech startups.
Twenty-four per cent of Israel's workforce holds university degrees,
ranking third in the industrialized world, after the United States and
Holland and 12 per cent hold advanced degrees.
Israel is the only liberal democracy in the Middle East.
In 1984 and 1991, Israel airlifted a total of 22,000 Ethiopian Jews
(Operation Solomon) at Risk in Ethiopia, to safety in Israel.
When Golda Meir was elected Prime Minister of Israel in 1969, she became the world's second elected female leader in modern times.
When the U. S. Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya was bombed in 1998, Israeli rescue teams were on the scene within a day -- and saved three victims from the rubble.
Israel has the third highest rate of entrepreneurship -- and the highest rate among women and among people over 55 - in the world.
Relative to its population, Israel is the largest immigrant-absorbing nation on earth. Immigrants come in search of democracy, religious freedom, economic opportunity. (Hundreds of thousands from the former Soviet Union)
Israel was the first nation in the world to adopt the Kimberly process, an international standard that certifies diamonds as "conflict free."
Israel has the world's second highest per capita of new books.
Israel is the only country in the world that entered the 21st century with a net gain in its number of trees, made more remarkable because this was achieved in an area considered mainly desert.
Israel has more museums per capita than any other country.
Medicine... Israeli scientists developed the first fully computerized, no-radiation, diagnostic instrumentation for breast cancer.
An Israeli company developed a computerized system for ensuring proper administration of medications, thus removing human error from medical treatment. Every year in U. S. hospitals 7,000 patients die from treatment mistakes.
Israel's Given Imaging developed the first ingestible video camera, so small it fits inside a pill. Used to view the small intestine from the inside, cancer and digestive disorders
Researchers in Israel developed a new device that directly helps the heart pump blood, an innovation with the potential to save lives among those with heart failure. The new device is synchronized with the camera helps doctors diagnose heart s mechanical operations through a sophisticated system of
sensors.
Israel leads the world in the number of scientists and technicians in the workforce, with 145 per 10,000, as opposed to 85 in the U. S., over 70 in Japan, and less than 60 in Germany. With over 25% of its work force employed in technical professions. Israel places first in this category as well.
A new acne treatment developed in Israel, the Clear Light device, produces a high-intensity, ultraviolet-light-free, narrow-band blue light that causes acne bacteria to self-destruct -- all without damaging surrounding skin or tissue.
An Israeli company was the first to develop and install a large-scale solar-powered and fully functional electricity generating plant, in southern California's Mojave desert.
All the above while engaged in regular wars with an implacable enemy that seeks its destruction, and an economy continuously under strain by having to spend more per capita on its own protection than any other county on earth.
Now..by contrast -- I would like to see a list of Israel's neighbors contributions. Mmm....

wow. that guy with the book in his answer is too much.
what a sad state of affairs when folks think blaming someone else will solve the problem. oh wait.... we've be doing that for years here in the good ol US haven't we?
i Cannot comment on the state of Israels condition because i have never been there, studied about it or have much worried about it or its peoples.
i choose not to read or watch any sort of "news" - it's all crap, that is perpetuated to keep the masses in the dark and fighting over what belongs to us all anyway. Earth and its gifts.
good luck to all of you may the Universe pat you on the head and say "Nice work kid." |

WELL I'M AN ARAB BUT I WILL TRY TO TALK FAIR!
A new country, people came from different places and took some arab lands to live in,
i dont blame israeli people now because they born thier, and they have rights to live wherever they born like anyone !.
i blame thier parents who came from more than 60 years ago! because they are the reason for todays problems here.
but people there are not really bad, i'd know and talk to some of them, they are more educated than arabs, they are open minded, some are really nice, girls are hot and friendly, not all of them are jews. some muslims are israelis as well. that's all i know about Israel |

I want to live...and die...there. I love Israel; the Israeli people; the Israeli Arabs; the cuisine; the culture; the climate.
I think the Middle Eastern people have lucked out as far as being mocha colored!
The current war going on involving Israel does not have me concerned.
If it were not so difficult economy-wise; I'd be there now, as my heart is. |

In his two books:
1. The History of the Jewish Khazars. New York: Schocken Books, 1967.
2. "The Khazars." The Dark Ages: Jews in Christian Europe, 711-1096. 1966.
D Dunlop, tells us: “.Do you know who the jews really are? (I call them Jews to you, because they are known as Jews. I don't call them Jews myself. I refer to them as so-called Jews, because I know what they are.) The eastern European Jews, who form 92 per cent of the world's population of those people who call themselves Jews, were originally Khazars. They were a warlike tribe who lived deep in the heart of Asia. And they were so warlike that even the Asiatics drove them out of Asia into eastern Europe. They set up a large Khazar kingdom of 800,000 square miles. At the time, Russia did not exist, nor did many other European countries. The Khazar kingdom was the biggest country in all Europe -- so big and so powerful that when the other monarchs wanted to go to war, the Khazars would lend them 40,000 soldiers. That's how big and powerful they were.
They were phallic worshippers, which is filthy and I do not want to go into the details of that now.”
These are the people who became what we call Jews.. There wasn't one of them who had an ancestor who ever put a toe in the Holy Land
But that was their religion, as it was also the religion of many other pagans and barbarians elsewhere in the world. The Khazar king became so disgusted with the degeneracy of his kingdom that he decided to adopt a so-called monotheistic faith -- either Christianity, Islam, or what is known today as Judaism, which is really Talmudism. By spinning a top, and calling out “eeny, meeny, miney, moe,” he picked out so-called Judaism. And that became the state religion. He sent down to the Talmudic schools of Pumbedita and Sura and brought up thousands of rabbis, and opened up synagogues and schools, and his people became what we call Jews..
Not only in Old Testament history, but back to the beginning of time. Not one of them! And yet they come to the Christians and ask them to support their armed insurrections in Palestine by saying, “You want to help repatriate God's Chosen People to their Promised Land, their ancestral home, don't you? It's your Christian duty. We gave you one of our boys as your Lord and Savior.
You now go to church on Sunday, and you kneel and you worship a Jew, and we're Jews.” But they are pagan Khazars who were converted just the same as the Irish were converted. It is as ridiculous to call them “people of the Holy Land,” as it would be to call the 54 million Chinese Moslems “Arabs.” Mohammed only died in 620 A.D., and since then 54 million Chinese have accepted Islam as their religious belief. Now imagine, in China, 2,000 miles away from Arabia, from Mecca and Mohammed's birthplace. Imagine if the 54 million Chinese decided to call themselves “Arabs.” You would say they were lunatics. Anyone who believes that those 54 million Chinese are Arabs must be crazy. All they did was adopt as a religious faith a belief that had its origin in Mecca, in Arabia. The same as the Irish. When the Irish became Christians, nobody dumped them in the ocean and imported to the Holy Land a new crop of inhabitants.
They hadn't become a different people. They were the same people, but they had accepted Christianity as a religious faith.
Regarding the state of affairs, the world is witnessing today, is the result of jewish control over peoples lives:
