Egypt is brilliant i have been to Sharm 4 times and the people are really friendly and are genuine and really want to help in any ways the weather is good the atmosphere is good and the food is nice and there is plenty to do so many trips to go on and sites to see. You don't say which part of Egypt you are going to but i think it will be as good as Sharm if your not going to Sharm have a good time. |

Excellent tourist destination, if you ignore the horrible traffic jams of Cairo. Great sight-seeing including the pyramids and museums, excellent food, superb hotels and hospitality.
You'll enjoy every moment there, despite the warm weather that will prevail during your stay. |

only 1 word for it - amazing! i was out there last year in july. the weather was hot but even my husband was happy with it and he hates the heat over here. take some diarrhoea stuff with you but drink plenty of bottled water and use this when you clean your teeth too and you probably won't even need the diarrhoea stuff - we didn't! have a wonderful time and say hi to egypt from me too while there. we miss it so much and can't wait to return |

go and see the valley of the kings that's interesting, the high Aswan dam isn't that high a bit of a disappointment, going down the nile on a fellucca is relaxing, also at nite if ur going to luxor there's a club not like ours though its called the tut hotel, its the best 1 in luxor its downstairs. there's a McDonald's there and the amun restaurant is good and cheep, enjoy yourself OK. |

If you can handle the constant harrassement from the local shop keepers then you will be ok. It got too much for me when I was there. The weather is glorious though. |

Hi,
Its hot now in Sharm el shikh and hurgada and cairo.
You can enjoy your time in Sharm (sea, water sports, horse riding, golf, nice food, night life, safe and alot of natural sightseeing)
Or you can enjoy your time in Cairo (musems, 3000 years civilization, pyramids, shopping, national and international resturants, old town, but its crowd and bad traffic)
Alexandria is the best weather now, (roman musems, biblotica library one of the bigest library in the world, nice beaches in Alexandria and near it in the north coast ,"Marina" one of the best places in Egypt and middle east)
If you like relaxing, natural water and healthy weather without any noise ,it must be Siwa.
Egypt is full of nice and beatufull places, i wish you have a nice unforgetable trip.
If you need and more information , please contact me.

All the advice is excellent so far. You will find people will be much more helpful if you take the time to learn a few words like please and thank you and no thank you to help you with the traders.

I went two times. I enjoyed it the first time when I had a completely private escorted tour. The second time I was harassed by shopkeepers, lied to and cheated by taxi drivers, hustled at every tourist site including the pyramids (such a blight on Egypt folks) ,and appalled by the pollution, driving and traffic in Cairo. Also got sick on both trips even though I was very careful. I also have horror stories from friends who were accosted at the airport by people wanting them to take their tours, by grabbing their suitcases and threatening that if they didn't take their tour their lives would be in danger. There are also horror stories for women traveling alone. Overall Egypt is a disaster of a tourist destination which is a tragedy since it has to much to see but until the government stops all of the corruptive practices then it will not change. I would suggest Turkey for a vacation, it was wonderful. |

It's a nice place but watch out for the following:
1. Do not drink tap water, always buy water in a bottle.
2. Watch out for the food, you may get an upset stomach.
3. The local shop owners will try to sell you the stuff quite expensive, you need to bargain a lot, do not be shy, we bought a lot of things nearly half price:))
4. Take some pain killers, antibacterial wipes, diarrhea tablets, just in case, there are pharmacies but you may not find the brand you are looking for...
Have a nice time there:) |

Have not been myself but here is what my mate has just said
Weather wonderful and hot, hot hot,
Roads chaotic...drivers are mad!
Food and drink cheap
take some diarrhoea remedy with you
The men tend to pinch ya bum and flirt like mad if you are a woman.
you can smoke out of them weird pipes
If a woman the national women call you sluts if you are dressed skimpy.
Cairo apparently stinks
No going topless as it offends |
