You need skills first to get employed, then you ll gain more experience and get promoted or leave to get a better job.
But the most important thing in Egypt is Wasta as Hasafer said or you won't get either. |

Are you serious? Do you think a dentist has any business calling himself a Journeyman Carpenter? |

Skills and experience are pretty much the same thing. When composing your resume make sure you only include the skills and experience relevant for the job you are seeking. Microsoft Word has some great templates to start out with if you are looking for ideas. |

I think experience that's why the big bosses get paid what they do. You might be able to do something better, but they have experience and have been there before. |

If you have the experience you should already have the necessary skills. |

Skills.Without skills they wouldn't except you for any job. you cant just work at something you have no idea how to work. |

I would say experience. Skill is good too, but experience will get you a bigger salary. |

Experience. But sometimes overselling yourself w/ experience may work against you. |

I'd say skills. If you don't know how to do the job then where could your experience come from. |

That's a tricky question. The best skills come from practical experience; however, that is not to say that someone with no skills (whatsoever) will be just fine. I think a better way to ask is, "What is more important to be qualified for a job: experience or talent." If you have a knack of picking up skills quickly while on the job and can transfer other skills learned to new situations, that is a talent I would value in my employees over experience. |

skill I guess. Experience you can somewhat fact. If it's your first job than just make sure you include all the things that could be considered experience. volunteering past jobs, sports teams, music, clubs anything basically shows that you're dependible and realiable. |

Wallahy ya Adhoma e5talaf el3olama2 :-) in other words, it depends on the organization itself, some welcomes the fresh grads provided that you're highly skilled while others needs an experienced one, they don't recognize the fresh grads.
Law 3ayzni akalemek ba2a 3an sho3'l el7okoma, they need NEITHER of the above, you just need "wasta mo7tarama" ;-) |

Experience, I once was on a temp assignment for an oil and gas company for 3 months. I had all the experience (plus skills) for the job but I wasn't hired on because the company wanted a kid fresh out of college with a business degree. Neither my manger, his manager nor his manager's manager had a college degree. But some how they looked past all the experience in the field they had and decided they wanted to hire someone with no experience. I likened that to self hate. To me to say they didn't want someone with experience in the field is to say they would not hired there selves it they were over human resources. |

Both are important although in a general level once you have experienced something the skills should follow. However on a professional level being qualified would mean skills as employers look for potential. |
