As with all politics, the status of "friend or foe" changes due to agendas. Over the years the same countries have been both friend and foe and the relationships aren't permanent.

Since 5 armies surprise attacked Israel at one time, Israel has signed a peace treaty with both Jordan and Egypt. Economically this has been good for the two countries as they can take advantage of many of the technological advances that Israel gives the world. This also gives them brownie points with some Western countries who share ideals about democracy and furthering all people.

Of course, Jordan and Egypt can't do everything possible to be closer because they battle internally with powerful groups that want to overthrow the Royalty and governments at every turn. So they have to balance what is right and what will ensure their own survival.

Israel is bordered by Lebanon in the north, Syria and Jordan in the east, and Egypt in the south-west. It has coastlines on the Mediterranean in the west and the Gulf of Eilat (also known as the Gulf of Aqaba) in the south.
The future status of the West Bank (west), the Gaza Strip (borders Egypt), and the Golan Heights (northwest bordered by Syria) remains to be determined.
You can enter Jordan through Eilat/Aqaba. The town borders Eilat, Israel and there is a border post where it is possible to cross between the two countries.
You can also enter Egypt. Entrance into Sinai (Egypt) requires a passport valid for at least six months. Rafah (Arabic: رفح Hebrew: רפיח) is a town in the Gaza Strip, on the Egyptian border, and a nearby town on the Egyptian side of the border, on the Sinai Peninsula. This is where you can enter Egypt.
with an updated photograph,
I think it is extremely difficult, if not impossible, to enter Syria and Lebanon from Israel.

Israel has fairly normal if uneasy relations with Egypt and Jordan. Israel has full diplomatic relations with both of them, and tourists regularly cross the borders between Israel and each of them. Israel has always had unofficial relations with Morocco, but I don't think there's anything more than that.

Even with Egypt and Jordan, there have been problems, however, including terrorism against Israeli tourists by Egyptian and Jordanian soldiers.

mickey

And from East - Jordan

Geographically:
North - Syria and Lebanon
East - Jordan
South - Egypt

Politically:
Official peace and quiet borders with Egypt and Jordan
Never had political problems with Lebanon until it had been occupied by terrorist groups that hold it hostage and launch attack on the northern border of Israel.

Jordan and probably Egypt too. Israel has "peace deals" with both and Israelis can travel freely to these countries.

aarcue
Israel is bounded on three sides by Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Egypt - all of which are Arab countries.
