If I were young of course Portsaid

the east of Port Said. The project partners are the Dutch ECORYS and Nile Consultants from Egypt. Port Said is located on the Mediterranean side of the Suez Canal, through which 30% of the world’s container transport and 13% of the world’s trade flows.

DHV is responsible for the analysis of the port and industry complex development required for the stimulation of economic growth in Egypt. It will also design the basic facilities, such as the harbor basins, quays, (rail)roads as well as those for electricity and (waste)water supply. Apart from the hard infrastructure, the plan will also cover management and logistical concepts, safety and customs facilities. Lastly, the plan will encompass residential and recreation development.

“This is one of the most promising port projects in the world, and will have to play a pivotal role in Egypt’s economic development,” declares project manager Wim Klomp of DHV. Thanks to the unique location on the entrance of the Suez Canal and the large amount of available construction space, the project has attracted the attention of all the large shippers and terminal operators. The development area involves a total of about 120 km2, which is 20 percent more than the surface of the entire Rotterdam port area. Companies are waiting impatiently to invest in the area and are eagerly looking forward to the future development vision. DHV will draw on its extensive expertise in hydraulic engineering, port operations and industry-complex development to create a strategic and sustainable vision and to advise the Egyptians on its implementation. The projected investment in the port and industry complex by the Egyptian government and the private sector amounts to about EUR 100 billion over the next 20 years.

Last year Port Said recorded the biggest jump in the world rankings of container ports. Currently it is ranked 35th (up from 67th).

But because I am not young, will be in order Luxor/Aswan/ Al Menia...

For me, the ideal solution would be to spend the Summer in Alexandria, and the Winter in Aswan, one of the most relaxed, laid back, and friendly cities in Egypt.

I love Alexandria for it's beaches, it's fabulous fish restaurants, its shopping, and the lingering echos of it's former sophistication and cosmopolitanism. I love it for it's architecture, it's turn of the century patisseries, and for its new, awesome Biblioteca. I love the vestiges of the Italian, Greek, Armenian, Syrian, Jewish and British citizens who left their indelible marks on Alex and who made it the "Pearl of the Mediterranean"....AND a 'city of memory'.

I love Aswan for its people, for giving us the Nile at its most beautiful, and for the delightful feeling of being able to walk the corniche, SAFELY, at any time of the day or night. I love knowing that EVERY day will be a day of complete sunshine. I love spending an afternoon sailing the Nile in a native felucca. And I love climbing the hill to the Basma hotel, or the Nubian House to have tea or a cold drink, while watching the fabulous sunsets.

It's a tough choice.

Any non crowded city on the Mediterranean coast like Marsa Matrouh, Raas al bar and Balteem or may be luxor it is very quite city.
But these cities are for relaxing, I don't know about the chances to find suitable jobs for you there.

anywhere would be better after that dump.

portsaid its a small city

Blue Utopia
If I had to choose another city except Alex, I would probably choose one of those cities they are currently building, like Alex West or Up town in Cairo. They seem to be amazing little cities with everything available.
