What is the worst nightmare you ever had? How did it make you feel?

Mine is one that actually reoccurs, i am very young (about 4yrs old) and i am walking in a dark ally, holding hands with my nanny, we walk through a stone gate and there is a moonlit yard with stone cobbled street, with a fountain in the middle, everything is silent and eerie except for the night sounds and its creatures, i turn around, and i am all alone, she left me, i become so scared that i am almost paralyzed.

I stay like that not daring to breath or move and when i do finally wake up, it is really physically painful for me to move.

So what is yrs, tell me about it

My nightmare used to be a recurrent one too, but in different forms. It always involved me walking with my parents till we reached a certain obstacle like a high mountain or a rope bridge hanging between two mountains over a rushing river ... something crazy like that! I would be unable to cross that obstacle and would be left alone crying ... talk about insecurity! lol

Now that I am grown up, my nightmares involve my hubby and daughter. The latest was about my daughter being lost ... I was terrified and so mad at my hubby in the dream cuz he was in charge of her! I actually woke up feeling mad as hell at him! Like I do when I dream that he's biyil3ab bidelo kida walla kida! hehehehe I told you I'm a total nut job! Poor hubby has to put up with me ... What you don't know is that not only do I sleep talk, but I also scream, cry, kick and hit in my sleep! I told you hubby 3'alban awy! looooool Now where's that straight jacket? hehehe

Other nightmares involve demons and ghosts and things that go boo in the night! An ocassional dead body or tortured animal is not uncommon either. Care to listen to those too?! lol

I had one in which my best friend happened to visit me, and we went to a swimming pool together... And because it is a dream, it didn't make much sense, and it had a scorpion at the bottom of the pool (and it was the size of an alligator)... Anyway, my friend apparently got excited and jumped into the pool... and the scorpion which was sleeping (apparently) woke up because it sensed her movements... it floated to the top and gobbled her up with in seconds.. and I was standing there, feeling helpless..... I wanted to jump in, but I didn't know how to swim.. Anyway, the next scene involved me with a phone.. waiting to call her parents and explain to them about what happened to her daughter... (That was even worse)....

I was soooooooooo freaked out, I woke up in the middle of the night and I couldn't sleep till I spoke to my friend and she reassured me and told me she was still alive and that she'd stay away from swimming pools for a little while.... (Hee hee)

My worse nightmare was one where I was throwing an elegant dinner party and all of a sudden a hideous demon or alien burst into the house. My guests started running in all directions, but the demon just chased after me. The house we were in was insanely large. I felt like I was running forever, but there always seemed to be more and more rooms no matter which way I ran. Finally, I killed the monster with a metal pole from a shower curtain, but it scared me horribly and I don't know how I did it. Everything was covered in blood. It made me feel horrible. I don't know what might have caused it, but I think it was because of stress from the job where I worked at the time.

I had one of the worst nightmares ever. It's where these dead bodies start chasing me and then I get in my car and they follow me in. I start riding down a path and it turns into a dark forest. Then all of a sudden I'm in my neighborhood and everyone has turned into cannibals they are all chasing me and I have to pretend I'm a cannibal too and I have to eat livers and blood soup the I rush into my house and their are gigantic bugs flying around everywhere my old American girl doll runs to me and starts saying you never play with me you never play with me play with me now so I run away to the backyard where my friend is and she pushes my down a hill and I get so many cuts and thorn in me I start crying then I find myself in an operating room that I can't get out of. I finally get out and find myself on a staircase where I fall off of and my friend promises to catch me but she doesn't and when I fall I wake up.

I was walking through the schoolyard when all of a sudden I just knew that I had to find my mom. I tried to scream, but no sound came out. I tried to run, but my legs wouldn't work fast enough...all I knew was that I needed to get to her but couldn't. And then I awoke.

You POOR dear!!! Sounds like sleep paralysis to me.
Here's some info about it, & then I'll share my nightmare with you.

Generally, our dreams try to communicate things to us. Do you fear being abandoned by someone who loves and protects you? Are you afraid of being alone? Is your grandmother ill?
--------------------------------------...

Sleep Paralysis strikes during the transition between dreaming sleep called REM sleep, (rapid eye movements), and being fully awake. During REM sleep, your body keeps you safe from acting out on your dreams by temporarily paralyzing you. Sometimes, your brain doesn't fully switch off those dreams or the paralysis when you wake up, which explain's the "frozen" feeling and hallucinations associated with sleep paralysis.

The effects last anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes, but it feels like forever to the person who's experiencing it. The biggest effect is that you're scared to death, and if you add an hallucination, it's even worse. Try to remain calm, try to move a finger, toe, scream out!

The paralysis will not kill you, or leave you permanently paralyzed, and no, you're not going crazy! Many people suffer of Sleep Paralysis, and medical attention should be sought which may uncover any illness which may be affecting the person. ( To suffer from Sleep Paralysis doesn't mean you're sick, to seek medical attention is just for your well being ). Medications can also be administered for severe cases, and sometimes simple routines can minimize the effects of Sleep Paralysis:
-Excercise, but not before bedtime.
-sleep at a regular schedule (get up and go to bed the same time every day).
-reduce stress.
-get enough sleep.
-don't nap.
-don't drink/eat caffine type products before bedtime. Instead, drink caffine free tea, etc.
-take a hot bath before bed, it will relax you.

--------------------------------------...

Back in the summer of 2003, I was suffering from nightmares for about 2 weeks. The worst one was the last one. I was in a dark place, cold and damp. All of a sudden, black and gray images of tombstones started to flash before me, one after another. The worst part was that they were gravestones of children. Young children. They were sitting on the stones, standing next to them, and their skin was ashy and cracked, black and gray as well. And they were staring right at me, with hate in their eyes. Image after image, they started flashing faster, I felt so deeply afraid and felt as though I was in danger. Then it stopped, this deathly slideshow and the next thing I saw was a gray skull, with long silvery hair floating all around it, and red glowing eyes, staring at me like it hated me and was about to harm me. When I woke up, I couldn't move, breathe, or speak. I just layed there in my dark room. When I finally felt control of my body I was almost too afraid to turn on my lamp next to the bed. I did though, started crying and my husband woke up to comfort me. I've never dreamt anything like it since.

The following week, we took a trip to San Antonio (a 3 hour drive from our home) and on our way back later that weekend, we ended up witnessing a horrific accident on the highway. 2 cars had collided head on about 75 mph. One car was completely smashed in on the front end and all but the front passenger were dead. The other car was completely ripped in half from the front seat back and the steering wheel forward and the two pieces were sitting about 20 feet apart. It was a horrible scene. I can't bare to describe any more of it to you. One of the hardest parts for me was that I was a registered EMT and had just had a baby about 3 months before and wasn't strong enough to help anybody. I remember my husband and I ended up getting out our maps and redirecting the backed up traffic from that country road.

My point is that I think I had that nightmare as a warning for what was coming that following week. My research indicated that the end of my dream, the face of death was staring at me - possibly a warning that I'd be facing death in a very difficult way - one I'll never forget, like the accident.

There are many wonderful resources online or in your public library that can help you understand what your dream is about.

I certainly wish that you'll find peace and that you won't have to experience this dream anymore, since it's obviously very frightening. My best thoughts and wishes of comfort are with you.

They are all apocalyptic...
The worst ones are where my little brother is being hurt.
When I wake up, I feel shaken, and somewhat betrayed by God that he would send me these nightmares when I'm already so afraid of the apocalypse.
But I trust that He's doing it for a reason.

as for nightmares...yes,i had a very bad nightmare a few weeks ago,and it did happen to me in reality.
BUT .....it's not right at all to narrate nightmares ... the only thing we should do is to [nasta3eez bellah mn al shaytan al rajeem] and blow air 3 times over the left shoulder and never tell anybody about it.

I used to work graveyard shifts when my son was a toddler and so I was usually pretty tired when I had him during the day. I had this dream that i had taken him to the park and we laid down in the grass beneath the brilliant sunshine and I fell asleep. When I woke up, the sun was setting, and I couldn;t find him anywhere. That was a sickening, heart breaking dream. It still makes me afraid of losing him and he's 14 now.

i had nightmares now i dont.

Usually i found myself having fun and then suddenly i found myself on some high castle or cliff with sheer drop in to a black hole and every time i was hanging from the ledge of the castle or cliff.

I was unable to decide as to how to get to safety, the fear of death was terrible. I am unable to scream or move, there is no one to shout for help.

Whenever i woke up from these nightmares i would find myself soaked in sweat , with very fast heart beats and jitterry.

They have stopped occurring now.

Interesting question-not sure why it's under Egypt. I used to have this one in my teenage and young 20's. (I had this one about 4-5 times.) I went to my old grade school and in the dream I'm about 9-11 years old. I get dressed and when I get to school, I'm told that all I have on is a diaper. I look down and I see my clothes. I am sent home. I put on another set of clothes and the same thing happens. I'm told that I only have diaper on. I go back home about 4 times. Haven't had it since 1996 or so. Made me feel stupid.

Now I have a nightmare about my old bible college that I went to for 4 years from '97-'01. I don't know why it took me 4 years to find out it was not for me...(I guess my vaules had changed) but since summer 2001, I have had nightmares about being STUCK in one of the dorms or STUCK on grounds of the bible college. Even if I have money for a plane ticket, I can't leave the grounds of the college. Funny thing is, I'm wearing pants in the dream and the school does not allow women to wear pants...it is a very strict bible college.

I hate that dream. Makes me very very scared and panic-y since the dream is so freaking lifelike. I'd wake up thinking it is real. I'd even say in the dream, "This is not happening to me, I decided I'd never come back to this bible college! Why did I come back..why..why...why..." then I'd wake up and I'd wonder...where am I......really?

I am extremely religious; I'm a Christian, which means that I believe that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior.

In the Bible, it talks about Jesus stating that we have the ability to cast out demons in His name (Mark 16:17).

Well, my nightmare is simply this: I am in an isolated, desolate, cold and eerie room. The worst thing that could happen to me happens: I am attacked by malignant spirits, and they begin to torture my body and my soul. There is no end. Satan has unleashed the darkness in the midst of my presence, and I have no help whatsoever.

The Bible states that under times like these, the Bible's contents do not fail. So, I try opening my mouth to state, "In the name of Jesus, be gone! You have no right to be here." The problem is that the demons have somehow managed to keep my mouth closed. That is the worst feeling in the world for me. It's kind of like in "The Matrix" when Neo's mouth closes shut, only, I am constantly struggling for my mouth to open for the sake of my soul. I try and try, but I can only give off a screaming moan. No help whatsoever, and the torture continues until I wake up. When I wake up, though, I have to catch my breath.

The second worst nightmare is a collection of many nightmares. All of them give me a painful feeling; one that has me believing that everything I experience in my dream is true. It has such an impact on me that I am affected both in my dream and in real life (I begin to tremble and sweat profusely). I wake up and go on thinking how I will survive this epidemic, for example, and I worry and worry. The nightmare seems so real, that I am not able to discern the dream from reality for a couple of minutes. The strange thing is that when I have these nightmares, I am also constantly waking up and then going back to sleep - about ten or eleven times (The nightmare continues to bother me; it's the same every time I go back to sleep...only, it's a continuation. Kind of like a movie when you pause).

One example of a nightmare is the end of the world. I wake up, think for a bit, and then realize that not everybody in the world has died. The continuation of it everytime I go back to sleep makes it horrifying. Sometimes, I don't want to go back to sleep because I'm scared that I might dream the same thing. Truly frightening it is. It's good to know, though, that I haven't had a nightmare for a while now. I hope all goes well for you. Think happy thoughts. :)

Suddenly the walls turned into a very big panorama window, to show Eiffel tower and thousands of small houses surrounding it, the clouds started to turn into scary shapes and suddenly a big ball of fire fall down & hit the tower and another fire balls followed it and I started to realize that it’s judgment day and ran into the bathroom to clean my self & pray to Allah, but some creature tried to break into the bathroom window, it looked so small from its shadow but I was so scared from it that I ran back into the room with the big window

and suddenly I wake up

Don’t know why I had that dream & why the Eiffel tower was thier (I love France) but all I know is that it was the most scary moment in my life
