I can't choose between the Drakensberg --Golden Gate, Clarens, etc.(Eastern Free State) or the Western Cape --
for instance Hermanus, Wildernis, Knysna, Mosselbaai
Loads of places in SA I still want to see - we have such a beautiful country it's difficult to decide what to see |

It's not really the place that makes the holiday great, but I've had a few great ones at the Kruger National Park, Sabie and surrounding area's, Uvongo, the drakensberg, Garden Route and Sodwana.
We usually go away for 2-3 weeks visiting various places staying 2-3 days in one place.
I think my next holiday might be to either Namibia or Mozambique....... |

SA is beautiful almost everywhere. My dream is to tour through it on a motorbike and just take photos of everything... If only I had a bike (my 100cc Hona scooter just doesn't seem up to the challenge)... lol |

Pennington. Nice and central on the South Coast. Magic b+b's in the area. Very stable local populace, no get rich quick ex miners with a corner shop. Get into the click there and you have a grand beach holiday. Mountain holiday? Look around Winterton in Natal. Some niche' holidays available from 4x4 racing , trout fishing, hang gliding, and generally having a thrill climbing a mountain. probably the most understated place in SA. Thats just two. Could go on for another six pages. Talk soon. lol |

Knysna as long as it is not in December, the traffic ruins the whole experience. It was a far nicer town 15 years ago before all the development.
Cape Town to me is the worst, I hate being there and hopefully will never have to step foot in that hell hole ever again.
Other favourites - Nylstroom, Kruger Park and Sodwana. |

We go to Nature's Valley near Plettenberg Bay and camp. It's great to veg out on the beach, hike, birdwatch and body surf. Awesome.
And living in Cape Town, I can holiday at home too!

As I live in the Garden Route my friends from inland (especially Gauteng) envy me. They believe I live in perpetual holiday.
My favourite places are Magoba'skloof and the Gordonia areas.
I just lazy around, do nothing other than complain about the heat - despite going there knowing quiet well that the areas are very hot. |

2 choices!
1. "mmm...I smell the ocean, coconut sun tan lotion, Western Cape (mosselbay, hartenbos, danabaai) long walks on the beach, the sun shining.)
2. Kamonande nature Reserve
Sitting in a jacuzzi on a deck overlooking wild life and sipping a Brutal Fruity... mmm
Yes - there is nothing as nice as being on holiday! |

Onrus, near Hermanus. The whole area just spells out relaxation, hoilday. Just walking along the cliff paths, breathing in the sea air, looking out to sea for whales, the odd ship and yachts. The beaches in the area are all good, fishing is good too. The dunes near Vermont are very interesting, moving from year to year. The mild climate allows good braaiing. Other places like Gansbaai, Stanford, Fisherhaven, De Kelders, and Franskraal are all all nearby. Good restaurants and other activities, including horse riding and mini gold, and, also important, lots of friends in the area. |

If we are talking about the years BC ( before Communism) then the Knysna,Sedgefield area is very pleasant ( and so are some of the wenches). For robbery and pillaging you cannot beat Johannesburg. |
