humans lived without computers for centuries ...
and we , the 80's generation .. have only discovered computers and internet in the mid 90's ..
we used to go to libraries .. read books .. magazines and newspapers ... and we loved the smell and texture of paper ..
we exchanged hand-written and heart-felt letters with our families and loved ones (and we collected stamps from all over the world as well). We lived in anticipation for new letters and news. Unlike now, when you log-on everyday and don't even say HI to your brother or girlfriend in another country 'cuz you both have nothing to say since you chatted yesterday ...
we had our music on casettes and vinyls .. and we enjoyed it just as much as the new "digital" music ... if not more ... 'cuz artists used to work really hard on their stuff for more than a year and when an album came out .. it really made news ... not like now .. throwing in a few computer loops and a couple drum basslines and you got yourself a song ... |
