Interesting question. I think it differs from one person to another actually. For some people, the only thing holding them back from doing anything and everything is faith and religion, I mean fear from being punished by God for their sins. For others, it is not fear that is holding them back, but rather an inner belief in right and wrong, a moral sense that is separate from religion. You can't deny that there are some atheists who have a great moral sense. So it all boils down to the individual.

Be forced to take complete accountability for their actions and use logic and reasoning for life's happenings. |

I know many people who wouldn't do bad things with or without faith and religion. As it was already said above, it is up to an individual. Some need religion (or social pressure, laws, etc.) to hold them back from bad deeds, others do not. |

They will probably look at he sun and wonder if it created them, then at the moon, mountains, cows etc till they eventually reach the understanding that these things were created by a Higher Being who is God! |

Without the moral guidelines of one of the established religions, (I am not referring to any denomination that proposes violence or division) there would be total anarchy.
Everybody would do as they wanted to do, OR as they were pushed to do by somebody else. Faith/religion is one of the core points of community and civilization.
(Regardless of such atrocities as the Spanish Inquisition or forced conversions of the Native Americans)
We are seeing children shooting other children because the moral guidelines and restraints have been lifted from our society. (Starting with the removal of prayer in school and the Pledge of Allegiance)
Too many people want to make everybody happy OR make themselves happy at the expense of everybody/somebody else. |

Without the excuse of religion to blame their crimes on, people would have to take responsibility for their actions. Logic would reign, and peace would breakout all over the world. |

Most people would just get on with living. Some would look to each other for strength & comfort. Some just wouldn't survive without the rules to follow (sorry, but its true). |

If all faith and religion was wiped off this planet, it would come back. Humans need that stuff. Everybody has some sort of unofficial faith or religion. It releases huge amounts of stress, be it praying to God, meditating, or simply taking a time out. People will always have their faith and they will always be fighting to keep theirs alive. It's a shame that a few of them give faith/religion a bad image. |

the difference between a person who doesnt believe in religion and one who does is the difference between an animal and a human.
religion outlines the laws we are bound to follow to avoid falling into the abyss of animals with features of humans . |
