By logic, yes, but a Muslim leader will never have the votes to become leader in Israel. Sad, but true. There will be Muslim leaders in the Knessit, but I believe that will be it. |

Israel has had an Arab as acting president of Israel.
"MK Majali Wahabi (Kadima) will be the first Druze to act as both Knesset speaker and president of Israel from midnight Monday"
This was only a few months ago.
As for logic, the United States is about 75% white. As such 1/4 of the time the president should be non-white. In addtion about half the population is female.
Every president and vice-president of the United States has been a white male.
In addtion only now dose the US have a female speaker of the house. Every one before was a white male. |

Your logic is illogical.
Most of the citizens are Jewish, hence most of the citizens vote for Jewish parties. This is the majority rule. |

This will happen on the same day when there is a Jewish president of a Muslim country.
Oh.... that's right.... that can't happen 'cause all the Muslim countries kicked all their Jewish communities out..... |

I wonder if they can also have a christian president. Adam is right, is up to the votes of the people. |

That is only a logical assumption only if they rotated political offices based on religious preference. If that was true then based on the size of the Jewish and Roman Catholic populations in the United States their should have been at least one Jewish President and 10 Roman Catholic Presidents. So far there have been no Jewish Presidents and only one Roman Catholic President and he was assassinated (JFK).
Good Luck!!! |

Your logic is awry, for a Prime Minister to be Arab (Arabs are either Muslim or Christian - the terms are not interchangeable) he/she must be the leader of the largest party in the Knesset. Most Arab MKs (Member of the Knesset) are members of Arab parties which would not gain a majority of the vote.
A president is elected by the Knesset not the people, as the Presidency is a figurehead not a political one it is possible for an Arab to become President although unlikely as it oftern goes to former ministers and high ranking statesmen e.g the current President Shimon Peres is a former Prime Minister |

If logic means you ignore the fact that 80% of the population would probably never vote for a muslim/arab even in 20% of elections, I suppose you are right. |

According to your logic every democratic country in the world must have had 50% women as presidents or pm's and the USA must have had some black presidents.
Obviously it doesn't work like that. Israel is the only Jewish State in the world. I guess it will take a very long time until a non-jew will be able to commit to this principle as the country's president (or p.m.). |

The interests of the majority of Israel's population is based on lasting peace. An Arab president or prime minister by logic is 5/1 of the time simply because the majority of the population are Arabs. More than 50% of the Jewish populatin in Israel are Arab Jews by all means. When will Israel have an Arab Jew as president or prime minister. Israel had an Iranian Jew for president and look how he ended his presidncy.
pleas do not hate me for my logic. |

I don't think that Israel will ever have a non-Jewish PM. Plus, your logic is false, regarding the Israeli-Arab population as it relates to the occurrence of an Arab being elected PM. |
