I've been in Kentucky, Oklahoma, Virginia, New Jersey, South and North Carolina and I am going back and forth to Atlanta. Every country has it's good and bad sites and at the end Home is Home, right?
Well, I do know Dubai but I live 1.5 hours away in Abu Dhabi and I would not choose to live in the US.
Let me start with "simple" things:
The UAE Labour Law is better. Here you get 30 days vacation and 90 days paid maternity leave.
The UAE is a taxfree country.
Healthcare has to be paid by the employer for the whole family. Here EVERYBODY can afford treatment!
Gas and utilities are much cheaper compared to the US.
There are some more things, but I do not want the list get to long.
The UAE belongs to one of the safest country on earth. The crime rate is very low and you leave your purse sitting on the table while getting food from the counter. You can walk around in the middle of the night without getting robbed or raped. (Also when rapes are taking place sometimes).
The UAE gets along with all countries and is not inolved in any war.
The UAE is a very good example to show that it is possible for many hunderd Nations of different Religions and backgrounds to live peacefully together.
I have to admit, where is sunshine there is also shade and there are some things that I do not like in the UAE and which might be better in the US. But in summery, my choice: UAE.
If you have any specific questions, please feel free to email me.
Take care, Salaam |

I'd rather live in the modern, sophisticated parts of the U.S. (NYC, Washington, Boston, Miami, Chicago, LA, SF, Seattle) over Dubai.
But if it were a choice between Dubai and Oklahoma, set aside a house on the palm tree island for me. |

Neither. I would prefer to live in some parts of the U.S. to living in Dubai. I would prefer living in Dubai to living in other parts of the U.S. |

"Anywhere" in the US is a little broad, fraught with danger and chance. So if I can't do the choosing on where in America, gotta go with Dubai
And you have a lot of good reasons for going there, as long as THOSE are the reasons for going. |

Never been to Dubai, ther are lots of great places in the USA to live and they are all very different, different climates, ocean, mountains, desert, cold, hot, so I think the USA is very good but most important is where you can have a better life. new York has great things to offer, so Chicago, San Francisco, most of California, Florida, Colorado lots of nice places!!!! |

Tho I have issues with the US Admin...It is still a great Place. I have visited many times and spent alltogether nearly a Year..
The Americans that I have met or know are truly the best people on the Planet IMO..and California I love the most.
I have visited Dubai for 1week and frequently pass thru the Airport...
It's definitely not for me..............I don't like the race for Modernism....lack of Character..AC everywhere....It's too Hot..
Also I'm not so comfortable in an Islamic State..
Turkey is much better.. |

Does Dubai offers citizenship where you can opt to stay for the rest of your life like the USA ?
If the answer is NO, then why choose Dubai where you will be an allien and expat for the rest of your lives ? |

This is totally up to you to decide. Where do YOU feel comfort and the quality of life YOU seek?
I have never been to Dubai, however, from the photos, it looks like PARADISE!
Me, personally, seem to have "Gypsy" blood or "wander-lust".
I enjoy experiencing a different environment, sometimes enjoying the journey more than the destination. I have lived in eleven States. Now I am looking at full time R/V lifestyle so I may travel. If I like where I am, stay a while. If not, move on to another adventure.
Always envied truck drivers, they see a lot of different places and when they are ready to settle down, they know exactly where they found the most comfort and quality of life.
Just MY thoughts.

It completely a personal choice. Both countries are lovely.
However, U.S. has almost everything that Dubai can offer, EXCEPT Security.
You need to buy more door locks, don't go out late, always be attentive, and well, anything could happen anytime in the US. Whatever you decide, just please don't forget to buy more door locks if you move to US.. lolz
Jokes apart, Dubai is surely a preferred place. |

I had that choice, moving anywhere in the US (won the GC lottery and no problem finding a job) and go to dubai ($150k+ job offer).
I chose Dubai.
In retrospect, Dubai is best if you are moving in with your family.
I think Cities like NYC, SFO, Boston are still better for singles.
It all depends what you are looking for: Dubai is safe, clean, has extremely high quality of life, is tax free, has best employment benefits.
NYC or SFO still have more character that Dubai, which is a young city in the making right now.
I best you 20 years from now, Dubai will beat NYC on all fronts! |

I live in Abu Dhabi, but I'm quite familiar with Dubai..
I would rather choose Dubai then somewhere in the US, because I find the UAE really safe, and I don't feel scared when I'm by myself..
Also I love that there are no taxes, :D
I love the shopping, especially in Dubai; mall of the emirates is such a fun place to go to, lol, and there are gold souks and stuff all over the place
And Dubai is very sophisticated, and I love the climate, and a great thing about the UAE is that it is a mix of all different cultures and religions; the Emirati population is actually pretty low, there are many expats in this country
And the UAE is a pretty young country, and it's really well developed and it's just booming! the economy, and everything!
It's just a great place to be, I don't know, I feel really uncomfortable about the US and what they are doing in Iraq, etc. and I'm of middle eastern descent and some people in the US are really prejucidied, especially after 911 |

Actually, those 2 countries aren't my top choices of places to live. I'd rather live in either Japan or Singapore.
But given the choice between the two, I would choose Dubai as it is quite cosmopolitan. The US would be my bottom choice for places to relocate to. |

I might opt for Dubai if I were assured to be a member of the elite class, ie: a rich Muslim male, if it were to be in the serving class I would go for the USA. |
