Back in 1967 Abdel Rahman El Abnoudy wrote 3ada El nahar after our defeat, Abdel Halim sang it beautifuly, and the music by Baleegh Hamdy was a master piece. Every time I listen to this song I get tears in my eyes. Its a strange combination of sadness and hope. The symbolism is so strong, that you can actualy live it. I think it represents the Egyptian mentality very well... the Egyptian mentality that sings even for defeat.

Its a timeless song... the sunset can be any hardship we face... and we are certainly facing a lot. So I guess I'll send it to us, and right now. I'm sure that as it says at the end, "all the alleys will lead us back to the sunshine".

i like the most recent song of sherine abdel wahab. she says beautiful words about egypt, Did You Drink From Its Nile?it's soft and tender. it describes things that we know in our homeland and take for granted. when she sings it, i become aware of the surrounding blessings that God has given us .it's patriotic without Hammering Strong words like Fayda Kamel, for example. i would send this song to some governers to prick their conscience so that they could face God on the Day of Judgement.

Recently I captured a big blue-fly in an empty tin can, slapped my hand over the opening and tape recorded the buzzing sound inside. I send this tape to a friend in Sa'na Yemen and he said the sounds are almost like some Arabic music
