having said that, I am a sucker for chinese, japanese (sushi), italian and indian...but the best has to be Lebanese food.

It's a tendencious question... and a bit difficult to reply. Each of us will say that the best is the one from our own country.
So.......I'll try to be impartial.

Nothing better than a good beefsteak from uruguayan meats
Nothing better than a tabboule from lebanon.
Nothing better than a mexican "burrito"
Nothing better than a lasagna from Italy
Nothing better than a chicken with champignons sauce from france
Nothing better than a chicken with curry from India....
and I can go on like that..
All the typical food from almost all the countries have something special....and a good gourmet knows how to enjoy all of them.

But....yes.....nothing in the world is as much good as the lebanese desserts.. There is no other place with such sweet desserts as Lebanon

I'll say Israel cuz, while we don't have a unique indigenous cuisine, our cuisine integrates the best foods from various places from which Israelis came, including Lebanon, Ethiopia, Central and Eastern Europe, Persia, Turkey, Yemen, South America and so on. We have pretty much all of the same foods you'll find in Lebanon (some are harder to find than others), mixed in with the best foods from other countries.

Lebanese food is very good, but so is Egyptian, Turkish, Greek, Italian, Spanish, Moroccan and the rest of the Mediterranean countries. By the way, I love the Lebanese sweets especially the small baklava.
