If you host somebody in your house for a week, then he does a "coup" when you are out and change the locks, you go to the Police to denounce him, you discover that he was preparing the "coup" with the police, what do you do ?
You accept half of the house because the Police is a traitor ? yes you can do that but still this is not fair.
If you are a decided Palestinian, you will never accept half solutions, and decided Palestinians are convinced that all the land is a matter of dispute.

It's mainly about Autonomy over land, despite what most people say. A certain proportion of those whom identify themselves with the Palestinian Liberation cause, want autonomy over the West Bank, Gaza, and Jerusalem as a capital. However, these voices as seen here, are often dominated by the voices of the extreem minority who would not like to see Israel exist.

Realistically, Zionists in Israel want to claim all the territory that was part of Ancient Israel, at least before the 200 year civil war broke out.

Ancient Israel would include present-day Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia. Genisis 15 also describes the area that God is to give to Abraham, father of the Jews.

Jerusalem. Natanyahu is planning on ethnic cleansing all the Arabs (Christians and Moslims) from Jerusalem. And he is planning on expanding the illegal settlements into the West Bank. And getting control over all of what was once called Palestine.

West Bank and Gaza are not part of Israel, though they are currently under Israeli control. This is because their former owners, Jordan and Egypt respectively, could not control them to keep them from attacking Israel. So Israel took them over.
Israel doesn't want them for itself; it just wants them to stop attacking Israel. But they have not stopped.
West Bank and Gaza maintain that the land of the nation of Israel is theirs by right, and they will not stop until they get it.

They say it is Gaza (given to them as a peace offering, only to have the land be used to launch rockets deeper into Israel), East Jerusalem, and the West Bank.

But actually Hamas does not want to recognize a Jewish state at all, and wants all of Israel. They want the Jews to be exterminated. Watch this clip, only from April 3 of 2009! It's absolutely horrid:
