I wanted to be a Ninja Turtle , ended up being a bunny....sh1t happens....
Seriously though , i mostly looked up to sports personalities like Jonty , Roberto Baggio , Ian Rush, Naas, Borris Becker.
When we used to play we used to always be "one of them" and immitate the way they played.

Sledge Hammer was a great show, probably my favourite show of all time, I'm surprised you remember it, no one else seems to when I mention it.
So, either Sledge Hammer or Homer Simpson. |

Mark Mc Nulty - the Zimbabwean golfer (I used to play a lot of golf as a teenager).
Graeme Pollock - please say you remember the greatest left handed batsman of all time, I'm not that old!!
'Baby Jake' Matlala - One of the nicest people in sports and certainly one of the greatest boxers of all time...
James Bond of course - I grew up with Roger Moore but think that Sean Connery was probably still the best.
Han Solo (Harrison Ford) of Star Wars.
Sean Young from Blade Runner - hubba hubba

Pik Botha - the ex-Minister of Foreign Affairs for SA. He managed what could arguably have been the most difficult job in the world. Like him or hate him, he was as cool as a cucumber and could sell fridges to eskimos.

George from the Famous Five. She had this lovely dog, Timmy, that followed her everywhere, and she always did such exciting things with her cousins.
Also Pippi Longstocking. |

Cakes I totally agree with you :-)
I also really liked Storm (X-men) and She-Ra (He-man's twin). Thundercats were cool too but I can't remember the characters anymore.
Non-fictional heroes when I was little: my immediate family particularly my big sister and my oupa, Roald Dahl, Elana Meyer and Jonty Rhodes... that's all I can think of right now I'm sure there were many more. |

Emjay IV

El Commandante Ernesto Che Guevara
It says a lot that Bull's hero was Homer Simpson, and why would Alf have a "half-breed" as a hero! LOL!!! |
