gov consists of people who are living in the same nation, maybe living in a parallel world or something but they are a consequence of the society.
but in our case, we follow leaders, whoever they are..once we was following Nasser, then when Sadat came, we followed him with his 180 degrees turn on the objectives and goals of Nasser's..so i think we are like our leaders, if he is stupid we are, if he is young and active, then we are, etc..

i don't think they are necessarily related.
but a bad government can corrupt a nation.

Actually a bad government without any creation or justice leads people from worse to worst..Finally people still individuals every one in his place and has his own life and interests but the government has the ability to control...

Islamically speaking, we get the leaders from our own people and those which we deserve.....it's a hard pill to swallow but its the truth. Allah will not change a condition of a people until they first begin to change it for themselves. Until the people of Egypt (and all nations) stop demanding bribes, fornicating, paying and accepting Riba, not making salah, feeding the poor etc etc...sadly nothing will change... Change comes from the bottom up, although thats no excuse for the current and past repressive regimes.... Allah knows best

Hey Aster..... that's a tough one, sort of reminds me of a joke.... like which came first the chicken or the egg......

Anyway, in my opinion, a corrupt government (which for the sake of debating is actually made of a bunch of corrupt people choosing each other and flushing away the good guys from their midst) encourages others in the nation to become just as corrupt. And so all this corruption will eventually lead to the fall of the nation.

They go hand in hand ! If you look at civilisations that have fallen in the past they were always decadent & had governments that reflected that.
As someone said , we usually get the government that we deserve!

bad nation comes first because if the behavior of people was good they will be supportive &caring and loving other wise they will try kill each other to take a piece of bred and they will stand united against any enemy.

ofcourse...a bad nation comes first..let me tell you why..simply cause the bad government would be consisted of bad leaders and members...and those members are also members of the nation...so a good nation will have good natives or members leading them to having a good government and the opposite is correct...the opposite that dominates our country nowadays...think about it..it another leader comes he will be no better than hosney simply because ppl are now thinking of nothing but money, power and their own intrests

well there is no answer to this question because you could argue that a government comes from a bad nation making it a bad government ... but government officials sound alright and act alright and seem to be good people .... so you choose them and they dont always turn out the way you thought they were.......... so i guess the real question is " how do you make sure you are choosing a good person for the government" and then i would tell i dont know how to do that

Man I like your Question, But it reminds me with that Question !!! Is the hen comes first or the egg? some people would say the hen because without it would not be egg, and on the other hand others would say no first was the egg then got the hen from, even I think both have a mental answer...depend on their ways of thinking but in the end you will find the both answer lead you to the same way , that there are Hen and egg.
So we have right now A corrupt Nation and Government. and it is a pitty.
But I think the reform should comes from the governement , will therefore we have no good one we should make the reform with our hand but even are a shitty nation Oh God it is big problem so what is the seluation .I tell you WE HAVE ALL COME BACK TO THE REAL ALLAH WAY .

i think it's a bad nation. the nation has be one against the corrupted government. ppl in the government. come from the nation usu. anyways.
