it's difficult to be in one side only of what you mentioned..........i'm both, i give and take, but mostly open my heart rather than being opened to me :'-(

sadly, many people now just want you to hear them, but when it's your turn to say what you want, they're somehow unable to hear you, and many not caring, or make it appear trifle..........which actually makes me often shut up !! :-(

and for me now, i think that this only will be achieved with my beloved husband..........whom i don't know him yet :-D,
so i think i have to wait and shut up till he come............hahahaha, lol

actually i do love giving advices but only for my close friends,also when they ask my advice_but sometimes i give advice without being asked depending on the situations_
but the worst thing i have that i dont accept advices from my friends,only if they r older than me.but i always accept my mother advices as she has many experiences n life better than me

It all depends on the person I am talking to. If he/she is a real friend who cares about me, I like it both ways. If I feel that somebody is manipulating me or just wants to play the role of knowing everything and or will never consider my advice a sincere one I keep my mouth shut.

oooops..u know it's one of my character flaws...i dnt listen to any body's advice except in religion and from ppl who know it well.....and i dnt give advices except when am asked.....

sometimes it is better to take advices then you will give afterwards..and sometimes you give advices so you will be given besides some advices you hear may change something in you into good but not every advice does that...it is just life you wont be giving or taking all the time....
about opening the heart..i dont agree....you have to gain trust ..big big trust...if you dont get dont open your heart...because as u are saying...ur heart is opened if you get stabbed it will be painful....it may be opened slowly....until it is totally opened and make it ready to close again....i am not being (motash2ma)...but it is just life people change....as i told you before about my friend i opened my heart to her..because i loved her.we were best friends..but in a second she was someone else..

the problem of taking advice is that many people don't believe in options they always think that their opinion is the right one and any thing else is wrong.
about giving advice a give it when i am asked for it, or to a very close Friend.

I think it's better to take advise, from that you can learn and perhaps avoid some mistakes in life.
Definitely opening your heart to someone, if you don't then how can you expect someone to open their heart to you. Plus you have to take chances in life.

i give advice very gently to someone who asks for it and i care for.
i ask for advice when i face a problem . i go to someone who cares for me and open the subject , wait for the advice, but not necessarily follow it . this is because i sometimes go to more than one person , listen to various pieces of advice, then pick the one my heart accepts as suitable in my condition.

I like giving advice more than I do receiving it. It seems like when I ask for advice I don't get really good advice. I would rather have a person open his/her heart to me because if opened my heart to someone and then they ended up leaving me or, just dropping me for someone else. I always trust people to easy, but I'm learning from my mistakes. But if someone opens their heart to me I will most certainly open my heart to them, but only if they aren't talking about their problems. When someone is talking about their problems you're not supposed to bring your own problems into it.

Relationships are based on mutual sharing... So you do both. When someone who always listens to u is in trouble will look out for you to open up and will seek advice/opinion from you.
The trick is to pick the right person and not to open up to just anyone... Pick someone who's trustworthy and who is smart and knows you and can really help you...
