Well,every emirate has the right to have its own airline,which then becomes a UAE National Carrier. So the national carriers in UAE are Ethihad(Abu Dhabi),Emirates(Dubai),Air Arabia(Sharjah) |

Let me tell you why---etihad is not because before,
there was Gulf Air, than the Abu Dhabi government took out its share & formed the Etihad Airways
(as in real these both airlines dont represent the UAE,
its only a saying" as they r based in UAE) |

Its Emirates. This airline has been in existance for a number of years. Etihad is a newly launched airline. An Airline as new as Etihad cannot obviously be the National Carrier of UAE. Infact, it is an airline more associated with the capital ie Abu Dhabi |
