There will always be people like John West who to sell books come up with weird and wonderful theories regarding the building of the pyramids.West is not qualified in any area of archeology or Egyptology and you will not find anyone who has studied the ancient civilization who believes in these theories.
As Dr Hawass rightfully refers to them they are nothing but "pyramididiots"
You can go to youtube and find a number of them. but the reality is the biggest mystery regarding the pyramids and who constructed them is that there is still such a mystery.
The pyramids were build by the ancient Egyptians beginning in the 4th Dynasty of the Old Kingdom and continuing until the Intermediate period.
The old methods of cutting stone such as granite in limestone with incredible precision are still known to some craftsmen today and can be seen in Aswan.
It is just that it is now seen as being too labor and time time intensive to anything other than a tourist attraction.
The ancient Egyptians knew the sky and the helical rising of the stars very well. For it is also how they knew within a matter of days when the inundation would arrive at a given point, after 3 months traveling from its sources high in the Ethiopian and Ugandan mountains.
The so called flying device marking is at Abydos at the temple of Seti I, and when looked at from one angle only it does look like a modern jet fighter.
But we also know that this is a hieroglyph that is commonly used and if viewed from less that a 45 degree angle looks perfectly normal as it should it is made perhaps made more obscure by being in a raised relief obscure. It bears no resemblance to the Mexican depictions of gods that some think look like men in space craft.
There is enough marvel about and learn from the reality without searching for obscure and fanciful theories.

The Egyptians did.

They first made them because burrying people in the sand wasn't very safe cause sand storms would move the sand all over, and the bodies would be dug up. It was also easier for people to steal the corpse's valuables, so Ramses the great or something like that ordered to have the first pyramid made, for tombs....

Zahi Hawas said that the builders were not slaves bec their skeltons in the burial places show they had strong bones .
he said their bones reveal they were noble men who strongly believed in this construction as a religious task.

Well if you go by the Bible most likely the Jews built the pyramids while they were under Egyptian control.

Many people would say the Egyptians built the pyramids, but actually it was their slaves who did the labor. and who were their slaves? The Israelites, modern-day Jews.
