There are so many,,,, and yes i gave it some thought.....

Ahmed Zaki, hands down, he was a chamellion and could act just any character.

The best Jeune most handsome would be Roushdy Abaza and Omar El Sherif. (I mean look at those eyes).

The best Villans would be Mahmoud EL Meleegy.

The best comedians would be Adel Imam for some of the recent films though like El sefara fel Emara and El erhab wel Kabab (I didn't care for his earlier films) and offcourse Ahmed Helmy is my daughters all time best actor ever. I like him too btw.

For the ladies........

I just love Shadia and she was quite a good actress too and Faten Hamama and offcourse Souad Hosney.

The best comedians Zeinat Zed2ey and Marie Moneib, i mean (ya7'ety gamalou 7elw.......doesn't that crack you up).

And who could forget the drama Queen Amina Rizq, for heaven's sake she made everybody cry at one time or the other.

From the recent ones i love Mona Zaki (In Sahar el Layally, when she was confronting her husband about his infidelity, it was one of her best scenes ever).

I also love Hend Sabry's acting abilities but you asked for Egyptians only.

For Women:

Greatest Egyptian actor is Ahmed Zaki and he is just irreplaceable. I do not think there will ever be anyone who will take his place or be as good as he was. He was just an acting genius! Allah yer7amo.

Greatest Egyptian actress, hmmm, I can't really think of any. Most of them are equally the same, but I would say Faten Hamama and Shadia were pretty good actresses.

Greatest actor in my opinion is Ahmad Zaky. The guy was brilliant. Though I only saw very brief parts of his role playing Nasser, yet I was really impressed. That glint, the shine in his eyes, really reminded me of the man himself, that expression in his eyes. Brilliant impersonation of the most minute details. In my opinion eye expression is the most important, and he mastered that. He was not a looker like Omar Sharif, for example, but he certainly deserved to up there with the best of them. God have mercy on his soul.

Greatest actress is more difficult for me, but the first that came to mind was Faten Hamama .. I might give this some more thought and edit later.

I have to add So3ad hosny too, she was great.

I only watch one egyptian actor in a movie - Omar Syarrif, but I guess he act mostly in western movies - if I am not mistaken he is from Egypt. Sorry - I watch too much Chinese, Tamil, Thai and Hindi movies and at one time Corean. Still watching Hindi movies - it is fun and funny - not real stories and sometimes get so bad - the story-line jump everywhere and too much songs, but still watching it - so unreal and sometimes overmuch - plastic and yet I enjoy it most of the time - gave me the chances to have my silent critiques. Tamil movies are much better. Sometimes I even watch French, Spanish and Italian movies too.

Can't speak Hindi, Tamil, Thai or Chinese or Corean - I read the sub-titles. How I wish I could pick-up Italian easily - it is a hard language to learn - Spanish easier
