both are great but very different
if you look at the teams they played in Peles brazil had what you would call a team of superstars throughout the era he played in he was the maestro and his team provided the music for him, we all know how good he was, but would have brazil still won games without him? of course they would have.
Maradonna was a druggo and a pig of a man, but we are here to judge him on his on feild displays, the man was a freak he was the Argentinian team he was the only SUPERSTAR in the team and carried them to the 86 WC win
only had a left foot aswell, and as for the hand of god goal against england, what about the other goal he scored in the same game where he dribbled around half the team everyone forgets that one dont they.
I guess they are both equal as players but i think Maradonna was more influential as the argentinian team of the time were nothing without him.

In terms of talent, i,d put Maradona slightly ahead of Pele but he was more of a team player than the Argentenian. Maradonas speed, balance was exceptional.
In my opinion, he was second only to George Best who for me was the greatest footballer that ever lived.
