Who will the South African masses blame for their pending self destruction....?

now that they have chosen that path by electing ardent communists, convicted criminals, rapists and thieves to govern their country through the ANC's National Executive Commitee, National Working Committee and their primary school dropout leader Jacob Zuma?
Will western imperialism be blamed as is the case in Zimbabwe, will it be the evil white oppressors or will they come up with someone new to blame for their destructive behaviour for a change?

I do see sooo much ignorance here. Our mass media has distorted the truth about the "Apartheid" system, so much, that it eventually escalated into the boykott which put Mandela to power. He was "known" as political prisoner, since he murdered polismen and civilians. Our media made him to a political prisoner after that.
The white govenment had strict rules that provided education and health care to blacks. They had their own universities, broadcasting and tv stations etc. They were not allowed to vote, because of the following history:
South Africa was discovered in the late 1390s by Van Riebeck, a Dutch merchant and sailor, like Marco Polo, and Columbus. They did not find any black people there, except a handful of Hottentotts. The black population arrived in S. A. much later, after the Dutch ockupied the land with agriculture and mining. Black people were hired who came from the north, the warmer climates, to share the riches through working for the white settlers
South African climate is very cold in the winter, that why there were so few black people living there. After gold and diamonds were found, more blacks immigrated to S.A. to work in the mines an factories. Their population increased enormously within a few years.
In the 1980s there were over 20 million of them with only 4 million whites. South Africa was discovered and developed by white people. Believing mass media with their false reports of supression of the blacks, escalated into the turmoil those poor people are in today. It is we, who created the misery there, today, by boykotting the white govenment and giving the Zulus the power they are abusing now. The Buer Govenment gave them homelands, didn't kill them, like we did with the Indians. We are the ones who are to blame for the misery in South Africa today. Because we believed the Press and their manufactored reports.
I still have friends in S.A. who tell me that they wish Apartheid would return, to "save us". (there own words)
Gos bless them.

If you aren't generalizing (because I have never played a role in voting/choosing any of them)...I think they'll only have themselves to blame. We have the ability to make a change, but the problem is the majority feel obligated to the ANC for freeing them from the past era, yet aren't aware that the ANC has forgotten their initial goal. That era is over, so they figure they should just repay themselves for the effort and denude the "masses" of a better country.

There is no longer a struggle to play patriot to. So they sit up there goal-less and spend their time dabbling in a bit of scandal, fraud etc instead of trying to tackle the mess they have created.

... this all because whoever the masses are, have allowed them the power to do so.

This beautiful place is sinking quick. Its sad really. I've actually even begun thinking of getting out. Fallen has nearly convinced me and since he works for ACSA we might just be close to waving ta ta to SA... :o(

Smiley - I think the purpose of this forum is to not only share knowledge but to gain. There also is no use in gaining knowledge if you aren't going to put it to good use. We all start off with our own opinions but I am open to listening as well. Never did I say SA was safe by the way. I am holding on to an inkling of hope. But I did not dismiss any of the postings (except the racially motivated ones). Its good to be able to learn from others and hear them out. I had enough time at home reading and listening. Plus a scary incident during my maternity leave. I still love RSA, not its current direction... By the way, if you are trying to challenge me and start a fight, you're doing so in vain. I made my peace with you Smiley and there is no use in trying to squeeze blood out of rock. I never blamed anything on apartheid, I actually have fought with the likes of Ayiza trying to tell them that "we" the younger generation need to move on because we werent part of that era (I dare you to look at my old postings). I will stand by my opinion for as long as I shall live "Mandela, to me, is and will never be a terrorist".... Thank you.

This is an easy answer Bull. If the black people in America and Britain can still blame slavery for their woes a 150 years later and get away with it, the leaders in SA will surely get away with their problems by blaming it on Apartheid for an eternity to come.

POLOKWANE RESOLUTIONS !

Education and health will top the country's social transformation agenda for the next five years.

The redistribution of land should be speeded up. Government must exercise its legal right to expropriate property in the public interest for public purposes

Nothing about Crime ! we are doomed !

The people who brought about the one man one vote in South Africa won't ever see the truth. It's a terrible thing and the people who brought it about will see it in their own country in time.

slo_gin007
They will probably blame the America, because that's what every country that has problems does.

?
As regards policies, I’m less worried about the communists in the ANC NEC……..the resolutions were taken and they still favour capitalism…….as regards the public image of the leadership…..I’m worried…….some of them should not be there……but the battle is on…..we are going to reclaim the ANC that would at least not allow fraudsters like Yengeni in the leadership positions…..

It's all very depressing. No untity, no strength. Ex vires unitas, that used to be our motto, now we have a motto that hardly anyone can say or knows.... poetic irony here eh? Although I do not agree with you on most matters and we have had our spats, the people who will suffer the MOST are the black rural peasants and underprivelaged. Zuma's election is a disaster, I only hope Mbeki or even Ramaphosa can pull something out of their hats....

cheri
Anyone except the really guilty ones voting for the people who get us there, lol probably apartheid because it is a convenient scapegoat

curmudgeon1955
Probably yes to all named as blamed. Kenya has some people saying don't blame whites for corrupt black politicians, they make the point. ANC activists have to be reminded that since they won elections they have to take the blame for current conditions being worse than previous. Nationalists can point that out in elections, ANC has to be a bit more cautious than Mugabe- he is the clear warning example of racism /tribalism/ socialism results gone bad. .

One excuse is as good as any other. Very few in any position will take the responsibility for their own failures. I doubt if you would either.

Pammie
Does anyone know who invented Apartheid.

Whoever they were, that is who should be blamed !

I blame the whites and I am white. I have always believed that we should have never come to Africa. I was born here so were my parent and so on all the way to the late 1800's. I have come to accept that we will never understand Africa and we should not try force our ways on it. My great grandparents should have never come here because now their offspring are stuck here. We should have never built roads infrastructure law, health and so on. I see Africans as true humans and I admire the ones that still live a subsistence life. I think the western society that we have spread is wrong and is in conflict with nature. Subsequently. I don't believe that any aid should be sent to Africa during famine, war or any other reason whatsoever. Most importantly I don't think any weapons should be shipped to Africa regardless of the cause good or bad. In time nature will take its course and balance will be achieved. The western world that is living on a knife edge will kill itself off and Africa will remain here the way it has been for the past 4 million years.
I wish i were that simple... But as we all know its not.

Innocentia - why do you want to get out so all of a sudden? You were the one who used to say that the we're not living in a war zone and that's it's so safe here and that Nelson Mandela is not a terrorist etc etc. You were also the one that used to blame everything on Apartheid, so why do you want to flee so all of a sudden? Come on, it's mos "safe" here in South Africa? You said so yourself.

Innocentia - I'm not trying to start a fight but I must admit that I'm a bit confused. Here is one of your answers you gave to an old posting and I quote:

'Why are we giving SA so much crap? i'm tired of people accepting every single thing the media says, and we sit here hearing obnoxious americans trashing us saying all sorts of horrid things i never even thought existed in south africa. the apartheid era wasnt good either, so what do you want? not ever single person is responsible for crime (this includes blacks) and not every south african is HIV/AIDS infected... we dont live in cages fearing every single step we take. as for naming Mandela a terrorist, that would only come from a bitter afrikaaner mad as hell that he's people arent still in control and treating people like animals. there is a whole lot of hope for south africa and we are seeing it in most of the youth who've never experienced oppression because they are trying to fight as the june 16 youth did. but this is a different fight, against the very things that are killing us now... i'm a black youth and i know everythng that is happening isnt because we're all savages. most of it may be wrong but the causes arent right either... poverty that would've never existed had there been no apartheid, education on behalf of those who have no clue about AIDS or have the needed resources to educate them on/about the disease... just voetsek the hell out of SA! And remember, not everyone like F*ing lucky you was raised with a flippin silver spoon up their ***,got an education and a pass to f*ing everywhere!!! your barbaric fore fathers forced us to the crrent situation, they're the underlying coz.... so f off!!!! Surprisingly most of the people replying are white... and their opinion on SA is whack. live the life of a black man before you can complain about SA, have your mom in jail pregnant because she was out at the wrong hour, have your dad kicked out of a place because he had a different skin colour. had we had equal rights back then, maybe we'd have been as smart and unbarbaric as the rest of the white nation. my grandad is white and he totally agrees coz this entire statement is the view he raised me on.. he himself couldnt raise my mom or be with my gran because of apartheid...my own brother robbed a house once so he could find me school shoes. it hurt me because he did the wrong thing so i wouldnt have to walk to school in messed up flops or barefoot... my parents earn peanuts because they werent rich enough to afford school fees and get great education to become doctors and lawyers... what about those in the rural areas? who have no clue of certain things in the world... who still fetch water from rivers and have no idea about AIDS and its causes, dont have televisions nor educated enough parents who will tell them to do this to succeed and ...you know what? its pointless telling a bunch of ignoramouses about a life they've never had to experience... i'm just happy for that you didnt have to live our kind of life...or you'd hang yourself...bunch of spoiled bratts.
i'm not ashamed of my race... we're strong people who have overcome a lot. those who complain should leave, my grandad is white, i wouldnt want him to leave. there are white people out there helping solve the problem, not continuously complain. what more do you want? you still have most control of SA. Apartheid happened, i cant ignore it cz it affected my family...but you being white wouldnt know anyway, so ja, lets all act la dee da and pretend its all over but expect to deal with people calling Madiba a terrorist? its not over by a long shot! and i bet you didnt expect a black person on this forum to stand up for her people? some of you obviously dont like us...so why stay? leave SA!!!!! and the whites who are more than happy to help may stay because they are more genuine than the rest of you... i dont care how you feel or how terrorised you are. everyone has experienced some bit of crime even blacks...so stop acting like you're living in flippin hell. stop giving outsiders more brutally rude amo to attack us using. as if i'm ducking bullets and land mines everyday... dont put your shame on me. i'm BLACK and proudly so!!!! I'm posting this to daily sun and eventually it will circle the entire SA... i'm sure mandela will be amazed to know he's savage and barbaric and so is the rest of the balck south african nation...that you mean to say F*ck apartheid, it never happened and you suffer more now in your little house in sandton...intriguing".

There's more but most of them were deleted. Now tell me Innocentia, what do you have to say about that? You know, it's funny, you used to call us the evil white people and that we must get the hell out of this country but now you are the one trying so desperately to get out of your precious country. So strange.
