If you are very religious, the story of the garden of eden explains this. Adam and Eve were pure...so pure that they did not even recognize eachothers' bodies as sexual. It was when they ate of the tree of the knowlege of good and evil that they understood the perverse side of sexuality (basicly lust as opposed to love), so our Merciful God gave them clothes. |

Because modesty is a virtue. The body doesn't look like those nice Greek statues and paintings by Cezanne. It is covered in cellulite, scars, pubic hair, grey pallor, acne, etc. People have pot bellies, bow legs, ugly callouses on their feet, hair on their back, male titties and other stuff. Better to cover it up with clothing. |

Ever been to a nudist camp? There are places where nudity is acceptable. Most religions frown on it. Most parents teach their children modesty, as they were taught by their parents. It probably started with cave men who didnt want to share. Monogomy leads to jealosy. Human nature. But you really need a hobby if thats what keeps you up at night. |

Well, as society and the technology grew, people saw that everyone was made different ways and sizes. Some were ashamed and wanted to cover up. Today it isn't allowed because some find it disturbing to look at private areas, or for the youth to be exposed to something that's none of their business!! Though I would like the world to remain in clothing! LOL |

Well can you imagine some one bending down in front of you and you can see straight up their ****. Or men who have a constant erection. I think we all decided it's not acceptable. And any way if your looking at naked people all day when it came down to the nitty gritty you wouldn't get turned on as much because you'd have been looking at them all day. |

Being naked makes you feel vulnerable and theres some shameful connotation attached to it. But personally I am with you on this one. I hope in my life time we are able to walk down the street naked, especially women, so I won't have to stay cooped up in my room in front of my computer. |
