Women don't have to go to combat, but they have to serve the country, why should men give 3 years of their lives to protect us and we should give nothing? Most girls don't go to combat so really your question has no basis in reality as most combat fighters are men but some women want to and have actually gone to court because they couldn't serve where they wanted because it was considered too dangerous for a women and many of them won and this opened new opportunities for us.

Combat positions for women are still limited because they are more vulnerable in captivity and we wish to prevent that and because of obvious physical differences, but some women can fight just as good as you and they do a great job, we also have 3 women serving in Gaza as paramedics, they treat injured soldiers and Palestinians under fire, don't be a racist, women want to serve and Israeli guys don't have such a big ego like yours that tells them they are gay if they have a women doing the same job as them.

Women can opt not to do active service. And it's only Jewish women who are called up. Many opt to do nursing or other forms of National service than fighting.

The last war involving Greece was the Greek Civil war starting in 1946. Since then Israel has fought three major wars fighting for it's very existence.

Greece has over 11 million citizens, half of whom are called up. Israel has just over 7 Million of whom many are exempt - Muslims, Christians Arabs, Bedouins (used to be called up, about 50% still volunteer to do military service), Druze women, religious Jews studying. That is why women do National Service.

i didn't serve in combat, weman do not serve the elite fighting units, but i did my part and i was proud to serve my country! i can help defend my country when need be,shouldn't that matter? why should weman be different than men?
why wouldn't you want your woman to know how to defend herself?

This type of sexist thinking is very passe. Women can be and are excellent soldiers serving in many different countries. I am a veteran of the US Army and my son of the Australian Army. My daughter is a decorated veteran of overseas duty We all served with outstanding female soldiers. Did you serve in the army? Where did you fight? It would be interesting to hear of your experiences.

As you know, the military service in Israel is compulsory for all citizens and residents (with some exceptions, of course). I'm not sure how it is in your country (assuming you're not actually from Greece*), but in Israel women are citizens and residents as well- they have the same rights and same duties as men.
It's not being "homos", it's called "equality". I don't know if you're familiar with the termâ€¦

As a rule, Israeli women do not fight, but like Greek women they have in the past.

Women account for 3.75% (6,155) of the Hellenic Armed Forces total strength. There are 717 female officers and 5,438 NCOs, representing 2.6% of the Army personnel, 8.4% of the Navy, and 9.6% of the Air Force. The total number of active duty military personnel is approximately 162,300, of which 119,200 are conscripts. Greece has a reserve force of 291,000. The highest rank currently held by a woman is Brigadier General, of which there are three.

The law in Greece is very specific, so you might as well learn
In accordance with Greek Law, women aged 20 to 32, when called up, are obligated to enlist for service in the Armed Forces. This compulsory enlistment is envisaged only in times of war or in the event of mobilisation. In exceptional cases, during peacetime, the Minister of Defence can, on the recommendation of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Council, call up females to enlist in the Armed Forces. The enlistment comprises 14 months of obligatory service which can be extended to 24 months, and obligations for reserve duty for as long as necessary. Women who are mothers, without parents or family providers, are exempted from enlistment.

The era where physical strength and physical skills were the key element in winning a war has ended centuries ago. (And besides the fact that in average women are weaker than men does not imply there can't be women who are better than some men in these fields).
Modern welfare requires many types of positions (technical, educational, scientific, administrative, etc.) which does not require physical strength.
Women serve in the Israeli army in variety of positions, which most of them are non-combatant, but given your attitude, I sincerely hope you'll get your butt kicked by an Israeli female soldier someday.

All countries in times of war can call up women to serve in logistics, first aid and any non-combat station.
Israel is doin just that but in a larger scale because many of the jew boys prefer to get high on drugs to skip army.
Hence the real big number in jew heroin addicts 99% male.

There are enough men in Israel to serve.most of the women that serve in the army, serve because they want to do this ,not because of the law.

And Why Greece needs an Army anyway? Does the Ouzo manufacturing plants needs so much patrolling?you need an army like Switzerland needs one.

And the women aren't saving us ,they are doing what every citizen needs to do.the fighting units have almost no women,most of the women do rear duties.
