All that you have said is sadly so true and more.
One could say it is because Islam is still a minority group in Western countries and minority groups whether it is because of the color of your skin or the name of your God have always been treated badly by western cultures.
But the reality is that it goes much much deeper than that.
I have been reading a very interesting book by Karen Armstrong an English woman who is a writer on comparative mainstream religions. I think that she makes a very valid point when she says that western culture being mainly Christian is still programmed from the time of the crusades when the Crusaders came to the Holy Land in supposed pilgrimages that left behind a trail of rape, slaughter and looting.
It is the human condition to be wary and mistrusting of anything that he doesn't understand and I think the only way forward is to find a way through the forest of things that separate us and continues to make us appear threatening and alien to many. .
Somehow we have to find a path were through education, communication and understanding mixed with a lot of patience and a little more perseverance we can walk in peace together without fear or favour.

Akhi I always ask my self this and Im sure other Muslims do too hopefully these questions will make people think insha'allah :)

I have expereined a lot of this and being denied of Jobs, being pulled off an Airplane to tell me I have to remove my hijab this happened in Tampa florida Airport on delta airlines I was a New muslim and was scared so didnt make a big deal.

Excellent question and questioning. The thing is we know ISLAM, we know it too well, it is a religion of peace but not weakness it gives you strength and adds wisdom to our actions.

We should defend our religion to the best of our abilities we should spread the word of Allah as much as we can, but we should do it in a peaceful and intelligent way, like what you are doing right now, keep it up.

make people hate islam and muslims (as no one would sympathize with them if they r fighting friendly and peace seeking people).
Remebre that, USA has CREATED, encouraged and financed Al Qaeda in the 80s when they, al Qaeda, were fighting USSR in Afghainstan. USA was a main and important Ally to Saddam Hussien during the 1st gulf war between Iraq & Iran...and USA itself provided both with Chemical weapons.

USA have to fight all the time because it's the ultimate power
and the 1st weapons (mass distruction weapons) manufacturer all over the globe...

then, it's to deform islam public view to gain the public sympathy in their disgusting war against peace seeking people. Al Qaeda is non muslim organization...it's an American tool.
but friends has become enemys now and USA still controling the media to lie and trick not only american people but just all the people around the globe.

i hope that american can understand the policy of their Administraion and know that no body hate them but hate their policy and this is why they should not be frightened of Muslims.

Really good question. So many people just listen to the media which are very biased about Islam i have turned away from the media and made my own opinion using my knowledge of Islam and as i have done this i understand the real Islam not what is published in newspapers and broad casted on the TV if more people did the same then there would be more equality and less stereotyping groups of people.

A lot of people generalise they think all Muslims are terrorists when they are not at all Islam is the Religion of peace but know one knows that because they choose to listen to one view.

Like you said about the Hijab and the Nun i really agree. People don't understand that she chose to do that as her dedication to God and that deserves respect not criticism.

I agree on everything you have said shame peoples attitudes won't change to make it better.

it is the work of only some people damaging the name of islam,because some people are doing bad in the name of religion and justifying it in the name of faith all religion is being labelled as bad.instead of correcting other people to judge you better please ask your own deviated jihadis to change their way of functioning.thus you can attract new people to the faith.prove it is religion of peace,it is better than forcing others to judge you

Islam is the "straight path" but is not easy. We are rewarded for every effort we make in the face of hardship, however small.

It is also extremely hard for people to look outside of their own belief-system (or non-belief... as the case my be), out of their own culture and traditions, and accept another system as also being right in its own way, although different. We all tend to overlook the bad things around us and then point out the faults somewhere else. ItÂ´s too easy too do this, and so difficult to find the GOOD things there too.

We criticise others in order to justify ourselves and our way of living. This helps us to avoid looking at our lifestyle critically and admitting our own faults. (This would inevitably require change.... and we are all a little lazy).

the answer is very simple because if you are a muslim then whatever you do,is wrong.this is the message the anti muslim media&countries want to propagate.because the governments &the rulers of west know in their ins of ins that islam is the true religion but they dont want to accept it because they are worried about their worldly pleasures&positions.and they are alarmed by the spread of islam in the western world.most of western people are free thinkers&after studying a subject&evaluation they accept it if they feel thats the right thing.so the rulers are trying to dishearten them by tarnishing the image of islam in a big scale.the september 11 attacks have led people curious about islam(they are thinking why some one would kill himself because of faith)ie why we have anti muslim news on daily basis.
