Could you plz tell me, is Zoroastrianism the religion of fire?
The symbol of fire: The energy of the creator is represented in Zoroastrianism by fire and the sun which are both enduring, radiant, pure and life sustaining. Zoroastrians usually pray in front of some form of fire (or any source of light). I'm sorry I did not see the connection between Judaism.

False. Much discrimination in the legal system and elsewhere. Jews are "tolerated" so long as they are not political and do not support the Israeli state. If one son becomes Muslim, he inherits his entire family's estate.

2. Another fault with your racist claim: Do all Jews hate Germans? Obviously, not. The German state enjoys very good relations with Israel, and the vast majority of Jews, while obviously deeply affected by the Holocaust, do NOT hold the CURRENT GERMAN PEOPLE RESPONSIBLE.
3. Following my last point, every Jew that I know (and I am a Jew) fondly remembers our liberation from slavery in Persia. Cyrus is remembered fondly as a historical figure due to this. However, as in the case of Germany, the people living RIGHT NOW are not the people that helped or wronged us in the past. Unlike you, we are smart enough to realize this.

I've met Jews originally from Iran and I can tell you that they do speak fondly of their Persian heritage. But they also are very upset at what's happening to the Jews still living in Iran, who cannot at present even phone relatives abroad without getting into trouble with the authorities.

Also, it's very hard to feel positive towards Iran when the president (or is he prime minister, I forget?) keeps saying that, and I quote from his interview with a British journalist last week: 'The Jewish state must cease to exist'.

I've heard, and hope it's true, that 'ordinary' Iranian citizens don't feel quite so negatively towards Jews and Israelis. Is this true? I'd be really interested in knowing.

EDIT - my sephardi Jewish friends in Israel would beg to differ with you; they don't seem to experience the discrimination you describe.

I've always heard that the Shah of Persia was a very fair and popular leader and that he and he and his wife were exremely glamorous. Iranian Jews that I know always speak very highly of him.

I won't argue that the Persians of old werent nice sometimes to the Jews. They were, so what happened to you guys? Oh yeah....Islam. Islam forced you to take the Jews whom you had previously liked and respected as Zoroastrians and made you hate them because non-Muslims are "kufar" or something.

Sorry, but modern day Iran cannot expect any sort of friendship because of a Persian monarch from 2500 years ago. Perhaps if Iran were still friendly today we would linger over our historical friendships, but that is not so. None of the religion is based on Zoroastrianism; Zoroastrian philosophy is anti-thetical to Judaism, and this regards Judaism with disdain. Iran did not "give" Israel Katsav or Mofaz, rather Israel gave Katsav and Mofaz (or their families) a place to flee to when Iran turned on them. Iran has no claim to any Iranian Jew; they succeed despite Iran not because of it.
Jews show friendship to friends and enmity to enemies; it is quite clear on which side falls Iran.

Israel is hardly alone in wanted to impose sanctions on Iran. The modern state of Iran has done nothing since the fall of the Shah to gain any loyalty or even good feelings from the State of Israel. Iran has been a bad neighbor and a simply lousy host to Jews for most of the last 30 years. Iran is simply a theocracy in its looks, but it lacks a solid moral compass. It tries to use lies and the ignorance of others to support its wild and reckless behaviors both internally and externally in the world. It has shown itself as a nation only worthy of contempt from the international community and can only gain some legitimacy by creating or using scapegoats (ex: Israel/Zionists, the United States States, the Danes, and the West in General).

Iran is an unholy empire.

I'm sure jews are very proud of that part of their heritage.

But you see today how Iran is conducting itself in a very agressive way tot he jewish state. NOt that i agree with what Israel does but at the very least Iran could be more peacefull and not for genocide all that will do is destory the middle east from the Inside out not just Israel or Iran.

So all you have to do is see whats going on the news and you will see why the two countries dont like eachother.

Just because an aspectic of judaism originates in Persia doesnt mean that they have to be head over heals for Iran today.

Samething goes with every country/relegion, its not just these two.
