Not all Orthodox Jews oppose peace negotiations, only those right-wingers whose interpretation of Judaism emphasizes establishing settlements in the occupied territories.
There are many Orthodox Jews who support making every effort to try to achieve peace and they also base their views on Jewish beliefs and traditions.

If these so called Orthodox Jews are protesting its because they are narrow minded & only thinking selfishly for themselves, it makes you wonder why Jews get a bad name by most ppl on this planet.

Isn't it God's land? ok so God gave Isreal to the Jews but did God say only Jews can occupy this land & kick non-jews out? i dont think so.

Palestinians dont say Isreal should be destroyed, those are the words from a few extremiests who belive if they were to accept Isreal & make it public then Isreal will have a right to destroy Palestine & its people, so they dont want to play into their hands.

The Palestinians made Palestine & Isreal before the Jews gathered & returned to Isreal (some thousand years later), people of all faiths lived side by side peacefully before the Jews came.

When the Jews returned they destroyed Palestinian terrortaries, houses, businesses, Mosques, killed innocent Palestinians, is this how you reclaim a land? dont think so, well not in a civilised way.

We all are humans, we all have a right to live on this planet, the Jews cant say God gave them Isreal only to them & therefore Palestinians/Muslims/Arabs have not right to make a living there, God gave Jews Isreal so to live in freedom with peace & harmony, God tested the Jews to see how they can live with other people in Isreal & if they would accept them as their own or at least as Humans, seems some did & some didnt as you mentioned why some Orthoddox Jews protest at Peace Plans, well you just to use your brain & take aboard what i said.

By the way to the above person who says about no one can touch Jeruselem, it looks like that person doesnt know much about Isreal/Palestine or Religion for that matter, Muslims never destroyed Synagogues or churchs or any worshipping building, Muslims are told to respect other people's symbols, may not have to accept them but respect them & let them be, only narrow minded, uncivilised uneducated people wil say different & make false lies & accusations, you think God says only certain ppl can worship him & no one esle? only certain buidings can be used as worship by certain people & no one esle? please do soem reasearch and be more open & civil. it doesnt matter when or how long a religion or place of worshipping was established, fact is people have a right to worship God & make things to where they can worship in, doesnt matter what religion or where, we all have a right to live on this Earth & practice in what we belive is righteous as long it does no harm to others.

Have not read lately much about the on going peace process, and thus cannot tell you if thye have been protesting or not, but I can almost swear it must be related to this: Orthodox Jews more than any Jew or Israelite feels the entire state of Israel belongs only to Israelis, simply because those are the lands God gave them thousands of years ago.

The acquiring over of the lands by them was done after God's promise to them since the time of Abraham. I guess most people who've read the Bible knows this is repeated over and over.

Orthodox Jews would be the ones (probably the only ones) who still have faith in God this way, and want to follow in his mandates to the letter.

I believe that Jewish people are trying to protect the Palestinian people from the zionists. If the Jews are protesting the "peace" plan, then I suggest they know something about it that we do not. The only possible conclusion, is that the zionists are trying to be "tricky" again.

The person above me is wrong on several counts:
Hamas says that Israel needs to be destroyed. Hamas got elected, so obviously a sizable number of Palestinians agree with them that Israel needs to be destroyed and all the Jews need to be pushed into the sea. It is not just some extremist right-wingers that say this.
Palestinians did not make Israel: until the 1980s, there was no such thing as a Palestinian. It was a name made up to save face. Before 1948, "Palestinian" meant anyone who lived in the territory of Palestine. The Jews who lived in Palestine at that time were also called Palestinians. Also, there has always been a Jewish presence in Israel, so I don't know where he got the 'returned thousands of years later' part. And also, the Palestinians did nothing for the land. It was barren and a desert. When the Jewish immigrants came and built the kibbutzim, the land flourished. It was the Jews who built an infrastructure, it was the Jews who tamed the desert, NOT the Arabs.
And as for Muslims never destroying any Jewish buildings? That is a bold-faced lie and you are deluding yourself if you believe that it's true. What happened when the Arabs built the Dome on the Rock??? They DESTROYED countless artifacts from our TEMPLE. The holiest of places. Countless artifacts and traces of buildings mercilessly bulldozed!! And what about all those homes built right up to the Kotel? Built by Muslims--it doesn't matter that it was the holiest place on earth for Jews, to the Muslims, it's a place to throw their chamber pots in the morning!!

YOU sir, need to do some research. Start with modern history. It will take you far.
