yes.. I am a Saudi lady and I totally agree.. that's one of the black spots on us.... We are rated #2 worst drivers in the world...
I have white knuckles every time I am out... its horrible.. But what amazes me is just a heartbeat away from my town of Khobar, over the causeway in Bahrain, they drive so well.. I think its attitude and the leniency of the traffic police.. They don't care.. They are a joke.. If you can get away with it and know it, why follow the rules.. I'm a women and no way in hell do I want to drive in this mess.. They will have to enforce strict traffic laws before you'll ever see me driving here..

LoL, I have the same situation. I lived in USA, and coming back was a HUGE shock!!

You can't judge everyone, but I think the main issue is...

1. No parental censoring in an early age.

2. No formal driving lessons.

3. Careless drivers, and careless police!

They do not allow women to drive and it has long been known that women get into fewer wrecks and thus having an all-male driving force tends to increase the appearance that their drivers are worst than other countries.

none of them have to work for a living they all get fat government paychecks from the Royal Family from Oil sales, they are either driving badly or beating up their filipina maids

Well, Arundhati is right....the driving here is horrible cus us women can't drive. People become madmen once they get behind the wheels. But I must say, instead of buying a Hummer and 'ploughing' us over, why don't you try to make some changes? Work with a big company like Dallah or AbdulLatif Jameel and organize a huge driving campaign. It's easy to sit back and call people animals; why don't you try and tame them?

Becuase Saudis are terrorists, and want to kill people by driving into them.

Noway the worst drivers I ever saw were Indians, they turn what is suppose to be 2 lanes of traffic in 7, they drive on the sidewalks, run people over and keep going, ignore stop signs and street lights and beep there horns the entire time while drinking alcohol or smoking hashish with radio all the way up. A total lack of respect for the law and safety of others.

Because they spend all day ragging 4x4 s in the desert then at night drive them on two wheels down the main motorways!! Not exactly following the highway code here are we now?.

Do you really think they believe they are ? Or do you want to think that they really believe they are? It could be mistaken to believe that they think they are although in reality they don't think they are but they want to be percieved that they think they are !!! It's a great misconception to think they are though I think you believe they are, hence - you already assumed in your question that they are - although they could not really be what you thought they are !

Seriously .... they thought they are still riding a camel with a V6 engine and 5.7 liter engine displacement HEMI... backed with nitrox and gas expander....... hahahahahahaLOL
