Why are all the American presidential candidates Pro-Israel?

It is called the politics of lobbying. The Israeli lobby is one of the most influential lobby in Washington. The Israeli lobby is found at every level of the American politics: Political Parties, Media. Unions, movie making, Zionist Christians and so on.
Average Americans are not well informed about the Israeli/Palestinian issues and believe what they hear or read in the media which tend to be on the Israeli side.

They are all pro- Israel because they think the majority of the American people are. Thats the way American politics work . They will be of any position they think will get them the most votes. Almost none will stand up for what they really believe. It's all just pandering and it makes me sick. If I saw a candidate say something with true conviction that might actually lose him/her votes. I'd vote for him/her whether I agreed or not as long as it wasnt something stupid and way over the top. They will say something one day and think theyll lose a vote or two so the next day they'll be like " well what I really meant was this" Pandering pansies are all they are , all of them ...Republican, Democrat, theres no real difference anymore.

Palestine belonged to the old British Empire (including the part America subsequently built Israel in) America took it essentially as profit from WW2 and plans to use it as the eventual reason/excuse for taking over the entire Middle East. W/out cheap and plentiful oil the US is no longer a superpower.

They have to support Israel to even be in the position of candidate. Americans are too biased to vote for anyone who dares suggest there are two sides to the issue, at least anymore.

As for a pro-Palestine president, that was Jimmy Carter. Israel at this point is so arrogant that they've banned him from the Gaza Strip, lest he takes report of the atrocities back to the US (not that Americans will believe him.)

You can't be a viable candidate without positive press coverage which won't be forthcoming if you are even lukewarm on the zionist regime. How much favorable publicity a candidate gets is in direct proportion to how much they are willing to offer the israeli regime.

Their actual views don't really matter. Most presidents are little more than puppets anyway.

All American presidents have to look like they are Zionist otherwise they will lose the votes they need in order to get elected. Most Jewish people, Evangelists (I think that's what they are called, you know that very large group that follows Pat Robertson and The 700 Club), Baptists (most Haitians,) just to name a few, are all Zionist. They must defend Israel or they will not become president. Once they are president, they will have to continue the facade or they will lose the support and the votes for the following term.

Hilary Clinton has to be pro-Israeli because if she fails to win the nomination and stays as a Senator she has to keep the Jewish vote in New York (no NY senator has ever won with less than 50% of the Jewish Vote as there are over 5.5 million Jews in New York State).

There is also the fact that Israel is the ONLY true democracy in the Middle East.

Israel is our ally and a democracy. There is no friendship between us and the Palestinian movement. I have never seen any Palestinian leaders handing out an olive branch to us.

Because we never forgot that the Palestinians were dancing in the streets, laughing and giving out candy on 9-11 as the World Trade Center and Pentagon was in flames.

Because Israel is a multi-party democracy and it's people enjoy civil rights and there is freedom of religion.

Because the governments of nearly every Arab country is corrupt.

Because gay people are persecuted in Arab countries, but have civil rights in Israel.

Because the overwhelming majority of Americans are Christians, and Coptic Christians are persecuted in Egypt.

Because Christians are not even allowed to build a church in a country like Saudi Arabia.

They would not be viable without positive press and that will depend on the response from jew organizations since the press is 25% jewish in terms of personal and about 60% by ownership.

Israel is about the only pro-American democratic country in the Middle East and Jewish voters are an important constituency. The Palestinean government has for years been corrupt and supportive of terrorism, especially against Israel. At the point where they will renounce terrorism and agree to leave Israel in peace they will get a lot more support from the US.

Isreal is the "CENTER" of the world.

Those who go against Isreal, in the end will be destroyed.

I believe if America ever goes against Isreal this country will have a downfall.

Look at all the countrys who hate Isreal and try to kill them all. But Isreal is still standing and just as powerful.

This is the religious view pretty much. And most of the Canidates are religious for this.
