Why are black cars faster than white cars?

Yellow and Red are actually the fastest colours...
Also the White cars with those Blue lights on top are quite fast....
However to answer your question , Black is faster by keeping the air near the surface warmer, it reduces the viscosity of the air in the boundary layer. This reduces drag, like shaving your legs....but then again it depends on the type of paint , carbon based paints are faster than metallic , lead based paints..
its all to do with thermodynamics and metallurgy..

They are not, a black was first white before being sprayed black, so it is actually a white car painted black

Because the rich people are driving them! They have more money to burn more petrol! When I am on the autobahn, it is always the black audis, mercs, alphas and volvos that pass me. And the siver, red and green and blue and white and.. heck, man everyone passes me except for the trucks. They are only allowed 100 kph!
