what annoys me more is that two big Egyptian names in our TOP security were on the phone with Gamal 3inayat on Al Safwa , Orbit at 7:30 today.
they defended the behaviour of the American ship .they said that the Americans had to protect themselves after what happened in the past when a small boat ran into one of theirs .
they are sure that this is normal behavior !!!
that if the ship were Egyptian and sailing in foreign land , it would have done the same !
no Egyptian authority has kindly spoken yet .
now i see on tv in Mona Al Shazli's program the widow of the shot fisherman , and one of his colleagues who got shot and is receiving treatment .

this was a very uncivilized and careless behaviour of them. Unfortunately it seems the life of an Arab is worth nothing. It's not the first time something like this happens. As long as we remain the way we are our wonderful government :( remains the way it is nothing will ever change we will always be bullied.
edit- I am sorry but I don't think it is right to go on shooting people on their land. If it was an Arab killing an American in the U.S. I wonder what your reaction would be. We do not hate Americans we are not happy with your government and we are not happy with the people who did the shooting. When an Arab gets killed the attitude is often so what it was self defense. If they feel so threatened by us on our land they may just as well stay in the U.S. Of course we are not happy. I believe that we should have the right to move freely on our land without anyone warning us in the first place am I right? |

I have not heard about this " today " I Will read about it and study my best to understand . When the USS COLE was bombed they got to close to the ship and the Americana's let them . " in friendship or ignorance . Now we have learned that not ever one wears a sign around their neck saying " Good Guy " --- " Bad Guy " This could have the other way around, not all Americana's are " good guys " but to my thoughts our government has more Bad Guy signs not our people . My niece was in Iran , and she had so many nice things to say about the people . everyone kind and good and sharing . but it only takes one bad thing to upset everything ., |

I am an American and I think it is wrong for you guys to just group all Americans in this one patch that you says is power hungry and self righteous. It sounds like you guys are self righteous. I don't think we'll ever really know why exactly, but the possibility that it's a mistake from what little I know about politics seems to be logical. Egypt isn't a threat to the USA anyhow, so it doesn't seem to have much political motive behind it. Egypt's an ally and the government is merely an extension of U.S. policies in my limited knowledge about the subject.
Also, the article I read mentioned a warning was given out in arabic by a native speaker and I would not doubt that. Perhaps the people in the boat were deaf or not paying attention to the warnings...I could understand the dillemma the crew on ship was facing because one really can't tell what will happen and if protocol was followed warnings were probably given. There isn't much reason for americans to want to upset the egyptians since the egyptian government is full of puppets for u.s. policy anyway. |
