Hamas has made it clear from the beginning that it isn't peace they are after. Hamas's ideology calls for the destruction of Israel; any peace deal would actually be considered a temporary ceasefire, meaning the ultimate goal would still be Israel's destruction. What you say is correct: as long as Hamas has power, there won't be peace in the Middle East. Hopefully the Palestinian street will moderate, and Hamas's popularity will wane as more moderate ideologies take hold, but that will only be determined with time. |

Very interesting question really !!
I think they knew that the Apache was kidding with them everyday, then they liked the game and they want to start the kidding sometimes.
Try to tell them next time that this game is played only with Apache rockets not Kassam. They are good boys and will play with you the way you want them to play. |

I wonder are people blind you never hear about how many times this IDF is killing civilians even during that peace talks or whatever. Why can't people think and see the facts from all sides. When you will act like civilized humans who can discuss what their government doing.
You don't want peace and not only your government you will leave in hell and die in hell |

The right to resist occupation, including the use of force, is a well established right in the international law...
So taking in consideration that Israel is an occupying force, and Hamas being a palestinian resistance movement, the right of the later to resist using force should be recognized. In this context military action against military targets is fully justifiable...
What I do not approve is twisting this right to justify attacks against civilians... such actions should never be condoned.
So I guess your question should be rephrased into why do Hamas sometimes fire rockets and missiles at civilian population in Israel... I thought of the following answers...
1- retaliation against Israelis hitting Civilian targets as well.
2- Lack of any other options... seeing the poor state of the euipment of their forces which allows them at best to make randomly targeted hits.
3- The general despair and hardship that the Palestininas suffer in General from the Israeli occupation.
4- the inflexibility of the Israelis, and their insistance on denying the Palestinians their internationally recognized rights of freedom and independence.
5- the expansionist strategies of the Israeli system, aiming at grabing as much territory from the palestininas... The illegal practices of Building Settlments on Arab lands, then expanding them.
I could of course think of a dozen more reasons but I guess I made my point. |

Hamas is not interested in peace they are interested in acquiring power. They are just a bunch of sadist bullies who use the cause of Palestine to mask what is all really about - domination through fear and intimidation.
Good Luck!!! |

I am not surprised that the Hamas controls those who launch rockets against Israel. The trick is not for Hamas to decide when they will fire more rockets (which they still do nearly every day), but for Israel to call the shots and thereby protect the civilian population of Israel.
Can you figure out how to do that?

Where else are you going to shoot them? Any where else and they will send suicide bombers in. They can shoot them at Israel but they won't really do anything because the U.N. "Doesn't approve." Israel should be able to do what they need to do to protect themselves without having to worry about being thrown out of the U.N. If Israel was able to really attack back, Israel would win the war. (Kind of like in the '60's) If Israel had the backing they needed the war would not last long. Unfortunately for Israel, the world needs oil the cheapest they can get it at. You can't blame the World either. To really answer your question, I think it is because the piece of land that Israel has was supposedly the Holy land given to the Muslims by Mohammed. |

Ummm...true. But then again, if someone stole everything you had, would you sit back and smile?
I think the Palestinians have a genuine grudge and a reason for what they do. And enough of their innocent own have died - it's not simply a one-sided affair. |

Hamas don't want peace. Their ultimate aim is the destruction of Israel. That is why the world is supporting Fatah. |

The more perplexing question is why Israel tolerates being bombed. |

"There won't be peace in the Middle East as long as they keep doing that and killing innocent lives. "
what a silly thing to hear from an israili....if u r so kind, wise and idealist..... why don't u ask ur army about killin innocent lives?....typical jewish
there won't be peace in the Middle East as long as Palestineans don't get their rights back....all their rights. |

Could have something to do with the fact that Israel is firing rockets and missiles at Palestine. Both sides are as bad as each other. If the Israelis didn't keep provoking the Palestinians all the time in "payback" missions then maybe things might quiet down a bit. Are you of the opinion that ONLY Israeli lives matter? Innocent lives are being lost on BOTH sides! |

The right to resist "occupation" by murdering women and children is the right that Hamas reserved for itself, and you cannot take that away from them.
They will fight until the last Jew. |
