Because they trust no one and are prepared to turn on an ally in a flash. The Soviet Union proposed the Partition Plan and financed their little alleged War of Independence. But when the cold war heated up they were quick to switch sides. They would turn on America in a flash if it lost it's position as the dominant world power. My dear Michael, the main reason why the Jews lost on the ethics field, during the war against the Gaza concentration camp last December was that they could not breach the core of Hamas by means of spies.
Instead they started bombing everything on site, killing mostly minors and infants.

Israel or Mossad just like any other secret service spies on others and for many reasons. CIA might spy on Israel, same for MI5 or MI6 and all the others. Within the Arab world you will see this and they have a common enemy... Israel. About illegal settlers, I always wonder who is the real illegal in this case. Again, there is no evidence that the so called palestinians ever existed in the area. Not until Israel declared their independence did the Arabs really tried to eradicate the Jews from Israel. Not until the 6 day war did you guys try to claim Gaza and the West Bank for yourselves. When it was offered by the British these Arabs said no thanks it doesn't belong to us. So, stop all this cheap propaganda, one thing the Arabs can not cope with is the fact that Israel is much stronger than them and ever since the 1973 war there has not been another attempt to eradicate Israel because the Arabs know very well that they will never be able to eradicate Israel. If you think Israel has the defense it has because of the $3 billion the USA sends them in aid well think again. The Israeli defense spends more than $180 billion a year, so the $3 billion that the USA sends is not what keeps Israels army going. Come down from that moon and down to reality.

Spying even on friendly countries is not uncommon, no need to give it an anti-semitic touch. It's same as US gathering intelligence on Israel or Britain.

Allies do not share all information. All countries spy on their allies. It is a necessary evil. The US has to have our best interests at heart. We only share intelligence with Israel when it suits our purposes. If Israel wants to know anything else, they need to have spies.

All countries spy on their friends and enemies to gather intelligence and in other cases provide intelligence back to friendly countries, why single out Israel and why provide us a pointless source?

Some people just do that it is human nature. If they get busted for crossing the line or whatever it's on their shoulders and that's the way it goes. Because I have a group of friends and one does something stupid I am supposed to not have any friends? You would like that if people thought like that wouldn't you. To isolate people so they can be "divided and conquered." I am really getting sick of your strategy try something new next time would you?

Being British and an American ally that you "pose" to be Michael, I don't fault all of Britain for your disloyalty to the West. Everyone has a bad apple in the bunch. I graduated from school in Massachusetts. In America, they call that our New England region, one of the colonial states in case some people don't know the British-American history. I have more of a affection for Britain and a connection to Britain which extends beyond my schooling and it's more than you or anyone else realizes and your questions are getting personal with me.

And as a Jewish American it's also personal to me when you insinuate by your linked article that as an American Jew I am not loyal to America. Not only am I loyal to America, I'm loyal to Israel and Britain and to the greater West and me and my family have worked our tails off to keep all three countries afloat and successful.

I come from a really long line of people that have served our countries Michael and some of my family have given their lives to serve that cause. I really think it is much more than "bad form" for you to be personally insulting me and trying to break up alliances that have been long standing to serve your own political Palestinian interests. I have already seen frenzied British crowds chanting "today, we are all Palestinians" and with that also comes the price tag of Sharia law and Islam. One cannot take that Palestinian cause without taking up support for what is behind it, the extremist Islamic issue with the Iranians in the background who are shouting Death to America, Death to Israel, we will conquer the mountaintops of the world including 10 Downing Street.

So don't feign to be loyal and paint a picture that Jewish Americans are disloyal because of one spy. Our three nations have more in common with each other as a Western culture than all of us will ever have with Islam.

As far as this "settler" issue that name you apply to it is an artificial English name. It's real name is not West Bank. The correct name is Judea and Samaria, Israel region. It is Judean territory, Judah was our largest tribe, it is our namesake, we are Jews. It is not illegal to settle on one's own land.

Do you still call London, United Kingdom or is it now Londonistan, Eurabia? It goes both ways doesn't it.

Besides Israel fighting against the radical Palestinian cause, we have British troops fighting side by side with American troops against radical Islam. Or did you forget 9/11 and 7/7 and don't give a damn that our towers fell down. Talk about loyalty!!!

If you were Jewish or Israeli, you might understand that "trust" is not a strong character trait of our people, hence the necessity to "spy" on our friends.

There are many historical reasons for this relating to anti-semitism experienced by the Jews throughout the world (which would not breed trust). Also the fact that many Israelis are not trustworthy themselves.

You mean spying on America? Most spies you ever hear about are spies on business and technology for information. It happens all the time and normal. Worst case scenario they get deported from the country. This goes for chinese spies as well.
