there are many Israeli Jews from Arab descent who came to Israel bringing with them there "rich" Arab culture and language with them, so many swear words are from the Arab language.
and the Israelis have adopted them.
also Hebrew has its own swear words.(most of the swear words are Hebrew and not Arabic). |

Do you know this for a fact or is it just hearsay??
Do the Arabic sound better? Does Hebrew actually have swear words? I don't know.. I'm curious. |

I didn't know that they use Arabic swears. I think they learn it from streets because our boys are really good at swearing.
TABATHA:
Sharmoot is a really bad word when said to a person, it means like stripper. There is another word they use " Manyook" which means f.u.c.k.e.d up. Please don't learn them. If I say them, my parents may let me sleep outside. LOL I said them here, shhhh don't tell.

I never knew there were cursing words in Hebrew. I always thought the cursing was borrowed from the Yiddish and Arabic |

evry israeli had served in east jerusalem and west bank use these words 100s times a day
as a habit when he goes back home he simply use the thing he accustomed on
i hope not only in language but als in characters
AM
have you seen a language free of these words
ask the french or italians or the americans

you want me to swear you in hebrew? buy the Israeli - swear book - I think it's published in various versions...
or just stand in the middle of Ayalon street at 7am when all the world wants to go to work- and wait... for the drivers to swear you (and for the police to come) because Ayalon is a highway- besides that - people don't really swear each other -and if they do most of the time they are joking.
trust me there are so many swears sheata titpaletz. |

Hebrew happens to be unique that there are no swear word in it. the modern Hebrew that we use today is actually taken from the biblical Hebrew that the old testament is written in and just modernized a bit.
if you ever study the old testiment you'll not find any swear words and although the Bible tries to use as little as possible words, it'll sometimes use more words to describe something in a better and tamer way - when one strong word would have been enough to describe it. for example the old testiment always refers to non kosher animals as non pure rather then using the word meaning the opposite of pure - and that is just one tame example.
so as there was no swear words in biblical hebrew - there is non in modern hebrew, so anyone wanting to swear uses english or arabic swear words |

Why would Jews use Arabic swear words? In an attempt to copy their culture? LOL! |

Forgive me if this sounds anti-Arab.. it really isn't intended that way at all:
If you say "I'm gonna make him an offer he can't refuse".. you can say it in any accent you want, but it carries the most vivid message with an Italian mafia-style accent, like in the movie.
French sounds sexy, even if you're saying "you look like a toilet".
Arabic is a language that often sounds like you're cursing.... even if you say "I love you". I don't remember the phrase in arabic for that, but I once heard it, and asked someone why that dude was cursing his girl out.. they laughed, and said he just told her he loved her :D
There are basically NO curses in Biblical Hebrew. Modern Hebrew has coined a few, in the attempt to "be like everyone else".... woopie! |
