You go to a Christian school? Doesn't that cause a conflict of interest for you?
Anyone of some intelligence knows the Romans killed Jesus, not the Jews. |

I can't believe your teacher is a teacher and doesn't know HISTORY. Jews did not killed Jesus. It was the Romans.
When I was in 3rd grade, I remember having a kippah in my pocket, when I took it out just to look at it, a friend of mine asked what it was. I said it was a kippah and we (Jewish people) wear it. He replied to me "I love the Jewish people but I don't like that you killed Jesus" |

It's pretty obvious the historical fact is jews didnt kill jesus but throughout history people used that as just an excuse to kill jews and mal treat and now to talk shet about them.
Anyway you go to a christian school, what else would you expect? |

The story goes like this...all were Jewish back then...and one named Judas Iscariot betrayed Jesus and went to the Romans and said he was claiming to be the Messiah. He then received money in exchange. Thus the story goes the Romans killed him, not all Christians will say that the Jews are responsible for Jesus death. But some will. It's kind of like collective punishment in a way, blame the whole for the actions of one. Plz don't misunderstand me, I'm only explaining to you why some people say that but certainly not all Christians. Cheers! |

People believe what people hear. Just fight for your beliefs and always remember the freedom of speech. Use it to it's power.

Its pretty absurd to believe in Christianity as a superior religion and at the same breath to say that their God was kill by men. What does it say about their God???
There is a big absurdity when it was (supposedly) Jesus fate to die for everyone and then accuse others of his death.
First - if he is God - no man can do anything to him unless he wants to or unless he is a useless God.
Second - for the sake of argument - lets say that the Jews did kill him - the Christians need to say:
"Thank you Jews. You fulfilled his prophesy and because of you Jews we can sin all the time because he repents for all of ours."
So Christians choose - one or the other. But you cant choose both!!! |

People aren't so educated. If I had to guess, it would be because a Jew (Judas) was instrumental in his capture and arrest. Assuming a Christian knows only that much, it wouldn't be a stretch then to assume that it was the Jews who killed Jesus. Factor in the animosity for not being accepted by Jews as the true religion and you have a recipe for hateful errors. |

I think it's really funny, if their Jesus didn't die they would still be pagans. Maybe that's not such a bad idea, I like pagans. You could also point out to the ones that ascribe to the belief that Jews killed their christ that the first followers of their christ were observant Jews. |

Jesus never died!!! |

Saying that is just ignorant anti-semetic propaganda. There were Jews who followed Jesus (disciples) and others who wanted him crucified. There were Romans who crucified Jesus, and some who later became Christians. Also, Jesus was a Jew. |

It was a group of Pharisees along with groups of other Jews and Romans, also. Pharisees were Jewish. However, those people died more than 2000 years ago. And present-day Jews are pronounced killers? What?! Why do people put blame on others who didn't even exist during that time? I totally go against that! |

OH...somehow I missed seeing this question altogether. I wasn't really sure what Ultra was talking about...and my reeeally long answer that also applies here is over there. If you want to take a peek, that is. I won't repost it here. ( I can hear the sigh of relief this far away! hehe!)
Once I get started, sometimes it's hard to stop!
The simple answer..they say this because the New Testament's depiction of his accusation, trial, conviction and crucifixion lays direct blame on the Jews turning into a wild mob and demanding it. The Jewish position is that there is no Jewish record or memory in any historic document that indicates such things ever happened as depicted. As someone else noted, it was a Catch-22..Jesus was either a willing sacrifice, or he was a murdered victim..was he an innocent human led to slaughter or was he a god incarnate sacrificing himself? Because Christians view their holy texts as inerrant, we've had stalemate for nearly 2000 years. My summation is better understood if you read my other answer.
