Why do we wishh to be older while old people wish to be younger?

when young, we want to be old because we want to have things that we can't have now - freedom, rights (smoking, drinking, driving), etc
but when we become old, we realise that these things are routine to us and it doesn't bother us much anymore, and when we look into the mirror and we see wrinkles popping up, we realise that we are aging and it is by nature that we want to be back to our youthful selves.

Who said we wanna be older? I just wanna look older so that older men can be attracted to me ;) coz I don't like young guys. But seriously I'll be 18 in 2 days and I am really sad about it.

If you wish you older it simply means that your mind is still like a child's. You want an adults privileges and rights. It means you haven't grown up yet and this is why you are child. All people would rather be young than old. When you get older somethings just aren't fun anymore.

Human beings have picked up bad habits of expectancy. We always live for the next moment, we sometimes forget to live in the now while we are young. Once we get old, we may regret that we didn't take that initiative when we were younger and we wish we could start all over again and live the way we preferred.

It's a human thing.. everyone desires the things they don't have..
But personally I don't want to get older.. I've been convincing myself that I'm still 17 for 2 years.. LOL

The human always hopes to be better than he is.
He sometimes wants to become older when he is still young however when he is old he wants to return to his childhood.
