Why does South Africa allow so many zimbabweans into their country?

A good question and this is where I blame our government. These guys come in and and take work away of our people, get involved in crime and put pressure on our economy. I wish Mr Mbeki will take a stand and speak out for a change. The silent diplomacy does not work PERIOD.

**** man, those poor Zim dudes need all the help they can get. And no, they can't deal with all the kak in their own country largely because they have an evil dictator and no one will stand up to him....funny when Bush was talking about the world's worst regimes he never mentioned Mugabe. I will not begrudge any one "assylum" in SA even if sometimes SA seems to be turning into an "assylum" in other senses....!

The thing is they are illegally coming into South Africa and they are not doing anything about the problem...the government is denying the fact that illegal Zimbabweans are coming over. Instead of solving the problem, they are ignoring it.

Like the DA said, they should make shelters for refugees from Zimbabwe so they can keep track of how many people are coming from Zimbabwe, but they aren't.

A lot are coming in illegally and thats the problem. I have no problem with the Zimbabweans who come here legally and contribute positively to South Africa. I just get miffed with the ones who come and contribute in giving SA a bad name.

Also again... think in terms of you being the other side of the border and in desperate times. What would you do?

And secondly we dont allow them we just dont stop them or rather the government doesnt see it as a threat
The cross our borders illegally then the government says no we cant arrest them because they havent stolen yet so they are not criminals they missed the the ILLEGAL part

For the same reason Zimbabweans allowed South Africans into their country during apartheid. So that they can escape the appalling conditions in their country.

I also blame our government for this. They should force these illegal immigrants back to their own country. I mean they probably chose their president and were probably too happy to help destroy their country so take the consequences.

I am probably mean and please don't blame me, but I have a suspicion that most of SA's crime is due to these illegal immigrants.

There is a theory that in consort with the ANC,Mugabe is driving all anti Zanu PF people out of the Country through starvation and all the other tricks he uses.The reason is that Zimbabwe have elections next year and if by any chance the UN pop up to supervise them then only Zanu PF supporters will be left in Zimbabwe to vote. It sounds far fetched but is there anything you cannot believe about Mugabe? And by the way there is not one Country on the African Continent that is successfully dealing with its own problems,South Africa included.

The normal South African doesn't allow it, but the government does and even admitted that they're not going to do anything, because see the more blacks that stream into SA the higher the crime rate, so they hope that, that would make more whites leave, but alas, it would only make the s##t hit the fan faster.

Take care of your brothers. . . .the more Blacks enter; the lower the proportion of Caucasians remaining. Hey the ANC is looking after things, they are running it.
In the past SA was only classified as 2nd rate, this way it will have full blown 3rd world status country on a par with Zimbabwe.

You got to understand this for starters. During the Apartheid era Zimbabwe welcomed any one that was against Apartheid to enter the country and live freely.
Now it is pay back time.
Sounds a little crazy.The ANC and other Anti- Apartheid organization owe a great deal to other African countries for taking care of thousands of anti- Apartheid fighters who had to leave the country in the sixties,seventies and eighties.
Today it is Zimbabwe and tomorrow who know who.
