The Gaza is the only region of Palestine not under direct zionist occupation,but they have consistently maintained control over it's harbors and airspace. You don't have to be a country to have an "international" airport; the term is used by airports as remote as Grand Forks,N.D. It simply means it is equipped with a runway large enough for the jetliners used for international travel. Yasser Arafat International Airport was opened in 1999 and shortly thereafter devastated by an IAF air assault; it has been out of commission ever since. The logic is this is needed to prevent arms from being shipped in. However Gaza is not claimed by any nation so it is a de facto state and as such it has a right to defend itself. To consider the violence unleashed upon it by the izzies over and over again,year after year,one must take the position that not only are they entitled to import weapons but that it is imperative. Strategically and morally. They have an obligation to protect their people and periodic "retaliatory" strikes uses home-made directionless missiles with a range of four miles is obviously not preventing attacks; notwithstanding a truce there have been two lethal attacks in this last week alone. The airport was built with international funding and the same sources would be likely to rebuild it given the opportunity; this is a primary purpose of the siege. |

Politics.
Israel controls Palestine's borders. Nobody can come in or out without Israeli permissions. It would not be easy to control who comes in and out of Palestine if they had an airport. Israel doesn't even let refugee Palestinians come back into Palestine, do you think they'll let anybody else in? Israel does not even allow Palestinians to fly in directly. They have to fly to Jordan instead, and THEN go through the checkpointing process.
But come on, Israelis won't even build an office for Palestinians in Palestine to get official business done, like documents, etc. Do you think they are going to build an AIRPORT? No way.
The simple answer to your question is: because Israel controls Palestine and Israel won't give them anything. This is why Palestine needs to kick their butts and get their lives back.
Out of technicality, Palestine is technically not even its own nation, so how can it have an INTERnational airport? How could planes legally fly in and out of it? How would Palestinian planes be classified in international air space if the nation "doesn't exist"? It is a complicated explanation of international law. |

Israel is not going to allow plane loads of immigrants and weapons to go into Gaza and why in the world would they.
They world doesn't want the scumbag Hamas spreading out of there so no civilized country would let them land. The Arab nations don't want them leaving there so same for them.
What tourist in his right mind would want to see Gaza? Tell me their best starred hotel.
No charter pilot company is going to allow their planes in there as they would be stolen from them and they may never get out.
The most barbaric and depressed place on earth and you wonder why they don't have an airport. No business sense huh? |

I am afraid it's the Jewish people that try to cut off all Palestinians from everything our modern society has to offer.
The Jews are afraid of the Arabs because they all know deep down inside their minds, that these people are the true inhabitants of this land.
Some of the Jewish leaders have also said some terrible things of how to eliminate every Palestinian person from his/her land, using every possible means.
I believe the whole world would be much more peaceful without the Jews fighting the Palestinians.
I believe that also.

because the israelis have one in tel aviv and they drive arabs crazy those who use it. they also control the bus stations that transfer people from jordan to palestine. they show those people hell. ask me, because i have been there more than once. they treat us horribly. if they treat arabs this way when they are coming from jordan to palestine, what are they gonna do if someone is going to come from another country to palestine? |

I was thinking maybe you are referring to the "palestinian" people,Palestinian Arab nationalism is largely a post-World War I phenomenon that did not become a significant political movement until after the 1967 Six-Day War and Israel's capture of the West Bank.Most of them come from Syria and Jordan and live now days in gaza, they don't have an airport for many reasons mainly there are not many tourists, some Journalists and other foreign nationals have been kidnapped by various local terrorist groups.Also you want find many builders as most of them are busy terrorizing Israel.
