Allan M (Stop stealing land)
|
They lived in peace before the Zionists started stealing the Palestinian land. If they are returned their land, I am sure the Jewish minority that existed before would be allowed to stay. No Palestine wants war. They want peace, but due to the atrocities committed against them by the Jews, they are unable to live their lives like every one does. Think daily home demolitions, abject poverty purposely inflicted by the Jews, targeted killings, notorious checkpoints and virtual prison conditions and all you get is an extremely incompatible situation for "peace". The necessary condition for peace is the Jewish withdrawal from the Palestinian land. I would like to remind the Jews that it was the Arabs that allowed them into their land when the entire Europe conspired to kill them. Hitler was so powerful that he could have rid the world of all the Jews, and there was no stopping him. Anyone not agreeing with him could have been taken care of easily. Had the Palestinians not allowed them in, they would have been dead in death camps already. And WOW! how are they returning the favor. |

its good to speak louder so you can be heared
true palestinians of east jerusalem as you said it can move freely in west jerusalem
i agree with you
first that there are east and west jerusalem and this is a fact
the second thing you said that you will be .....if you walk in east jerusalem
that is not true for those who come to bye goods each friday and those who go shopping they were more that welcome
but just once you start walking in old city the first thing you meet is that house with that 20 meters long blue and white flag in the middle of arab quarter, then you see those who sneak in arab houses as well as those guards 4 or 5 guards 24 hours a day to guard an empty house (which at that time 1987 motivated palestinians for the first intifada
and if you recall that visit to aqsa mosque which motivated palestinians for the second intifada
the last thing
for 1400 years remind me of one masacre commited with cold blood
while since 1936 till 1948 there were 200 masacres committed to arabs
you may put on search canada park on you tube to see what i mean
if you old enough to check kufur qasem(inside green line)1956,or der yasseen you will see the exact meaning |

Both groups have in-factions and corrupt government officials with extreme ideologies it seems. The Zionists want to ethnically cleanse the Arabs in the general area and the Arabs simply want their land and will do anything to keep it. |

I agree with you Mark. I think it is going to be the only way to avert a lot of killings. One problem though is that the zionist have been brought up to hate Arab people; to throw stones at them and to consider them inferior. They are powerful emotions that will not be easy to ignore. However, I am sure that not all israelis feel this way. I guess, those that could not live under a Arab government will just leave anyway.
For a lot of reasons, I think a one state solution is the way things will go.
My own question was deleted. I have no idea way. I was reporting the news article that Hezbollah has enough long range missiles to strike every part of israel; and do enough damage to make the place unlivable.
Ersatz israel will not be able to threaten Lebanon again, and most likely none of the other Arab countries in the region.
Hezbollah have been very smart and are very disciplined. They had a plan and have been quietly following it through. I am sure that they will offer their support to other countries in the region, and that includes Palestine. Ersatz israel's days of being top dog and bullying other countries around has ended.
The government of ersatz israel knows, that regardless of consequences, Hezbollah will use their weapons. Once they do, then end of zion is assured; regardless of consequences to anyone else. zion will not be able to rebuild. They wont be able to afford that, and emigration / immigration will see zionist population dwindle.
Now is the time for zion to make a peace and pay reparation. Let's all work for a peaceful one state solution; and let the hate mongers return to Europe. |

They lived in peace during Islamic rule in Spain and Palestine for thousands of years and that is when Jew had their golden age ! But the storry starts at 1917 when Israel came with force ( Not in peace ) And killed Millions and kicked out Millions in order to establish what they call " The only democratic country in middle east "
And now it has been 60 years of Zionist rule and yet Israel continue its ugly crimes against Palestinian people and against jewish people themselfs :

http://www.uruknet.info/?p=m40547&hd=&size=1&l=e
Edit : Millions of Jews live in peace in many Arab and Islamic countries..
About Yugoslavia : Serb, Muslims , Croatian also lived in peace and that war was only political in order to destroy communist country ! No one in Yugoslavia supported the war and when it first began the demonstrations were full of Serbs Croats Muslims who were together !
Lebanon : It is also political war between Iran and Israel in order to devide Lebanon and make the mission easy to Israel
So you see all civil wars are being caused by foreign involvment to seek political goals ! |

Zionists do not live in peace with much of anyone. They love war and only tolerate peace on their terms. And they will never - ever - tolerate a non-zionist or multicultural Palestine. |

The idea of Palestine as a multicultural state has great appeal and would be more attractive to the world than any alternative. However, the zionists have shed so much blood since 1948 on behalf of their messianic fantasy that there can really be no turning back. In any event, the Arafat plan cited above is now losing popularity among the Palestinians. Why they ask, should we be expected to give up any of our land, particularly to a people as dangerous and cruel and the zionists? I think the era for that plan came and went in the 1970's. I only favor a two-state solution as an initial step in regaining the entire country for it's people. |

I wish they could. The land they are fighting over is so holy to Jews, Muslims and Christians and it is such a pity that it has ended up in the current situation.
If the Isrealis stopped stealing land and attacking the Palestinians, and the Palestinians stopped firing rockets into towns and blowing themselves up, then there may just be the possibilty. |

Although most Israelis advocate a two-state solution, some indeed advocate a one-state solution:

The countries you mentioned weren't peaceful at first.
The greater India, was split into Pakistan Bangladesh and today's India, Muslims fled to Pakistan and Bangladesh, Hindus immigrated to today's India (religious divide).
the American Civil war was partly due to support and opposition to slavery (racial divide).
You remember South Africa.
Canadians are not that diverse they are mostly Christian Europeans and yet there are Quebeckers who seek autonomy (ancestry divide!).
To name a few more: Chechnya, Yugoslavia Lebanon of the 80s.
Spread the blue.
Mr. X
Not that analogous, There are Hindu communities in Pakistan. are Hindu's are "happy citizens". I don't see why would Jews in the Arab world be less "happy" than Arabs in Israel or Arabs in refugee camps. You also fail to mention the Arab-Israeli wars, refugee camps, and the fact that India is a SECULAR DEMOCRACY, not a a Hindu democracy with equal rights for all citizens and with discrimination in immigration laws.
(I am critical of Pakistan for being a Islamic republic but they're not involved in such a dispute) |

The jews are determined to make all of Palestine theirs and beyond that to manipulate the U.S. into remaking the entire Arab world into something more amenable to zionism. I support one thing only and that is relocation of the zionists. The Palestinians have no reason to relinquish half their country and the jews will never participate in a multicultural government. |

Have you seen the way conservatives talk to liberals on this board? Actually talking about KILLING them. I hardly think we are in a position to tell anybody anywhere how to work out their differences. |

as long as leaders and businessmen make money and gain power because of the conflict, there will be a conflict.
if the regular people were left alone, we'd live very peacefully together, but for the politicians and religious leaders to maintain their status, they need war, it's cynical, but that's what makes the world go round. |

Let them coexist with each other first.
Most nations don't have this "religion problem", and these that do have been fighting as the Muslim population grew in numbers.
Most people in Africa die because of these religion wars. |

Yugoslavia and Lebanon.
And India was partitioned into India and Pakistan. Not a very good example for your suggestion.
==============================
naserq22 asked for an example of a cold -blooded massacre perpetrated by Muslims.
Happy to oblige.
On December 30, 1066, a Muslim mob stormed the royal palace in Granada, crucified Jewish vizier Joseph ibn Naghrela and massacred most of the Jewish population of the city. More than 1,500 Jewish families, numbering 4,000 persons, were killed in one day.
In 1465, Arab mobs in Fez massacred thousands of Jews, leaving only 11 alive, after a Jewish deputy vizier treated a Muslim woman in "an offensive manner." The killings touched off a wave of similar massacres throughout Morocco.
Thousands of Christians were killed in Damascus in 1860.
And we all know how well the Armenian Christians fared under Ottoman rule.

It is a shame such a policy was not advocated 80 years ago

Maybe if the Arab world did not protest the free immigration of both Arabs and Jews there would never have been a conflict to begin with.
Is it too late to try it today? Maybe, only time will tell. |

the arabs were offered a state numerous times, they refused. |

i realize that india is quite diverse and that there are many muslims in the north, but the india/pakistan partition is very analogous to what happened in the middle east.
there were tons of problems between muslims and hindus in india, and the country was split. many muslims went to pakistan, many hindus went to india.
the muslims that stayed in india are happy citizens. there really aren't many hindus in pakistan, because the muslims can't deal with religious diversity
same in israel. palestine was split into an arab state, jordan, and a jewish state, israel. many jews left the arab countries to go to israel, many arabs left israel to go to the arab countries.
the arabs that remained in israel are happy citizens. there are very few jews left in the arab countries because the muslims there can't really deal with religious diversity.
very analogous situations. |

one state? Palestinians want to kick the Jews out of Israel. Establish 1 Palestine under Palestinians control. Palestinians do not deny their intentions. "The right of Return" policy is surely propagated to gain Islamic majority. Arab nations & UN & many countries in the world support this initiative.
Many Arabs & Jews live in Israel peacefully. They coexist despite their differences. |
|

spReez

Each side wants to have their "own" place to live in. I doubt that the two sides will live together any time soon.
EDIT: What you said about the US and other countries having multiple ethnicites is true. However, the countries are their own; it's just that they allow diff. ethncities to live in their countries. Israelis and Palestinians are a different story; they're fighting over the same land.
EDIT: Yes, I know that the land is too small. It's what I'm trying to say that peace will be very hard to achieve because there are too many disputes in such small land. Therefore, Israel will fight to keep it and the Palestinians will also to try to fight for it. It's why there's the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. |

The UN Partician Plan in 1947 was to make what was left of Palestine into 2 states. (The British had already given most of the territory that was Palestine to create Trans-Jordan, later renamed Jordan.) But the Arabss refused to accept any Jewish country on any land, so they told the local Arabs to leave so they could kick out the Jews. They attacked Israel the day it was created. |

Because the PLO likes to blow stuff up way too much. They are mostly funded by other countries. Spend a year in the middle east and you will never again wonder why some people can't get along over there. It becomes all too clear. |

the israelis dont bother the palestinians. but the palestinians are constantly attacking us...so you really have toi ask the arabs!
in jerusalem.....the arabs can roam freely all over, and the jews would be murdered instantly if we walked into arab areas of jerusalem.
just the other week a jew was stabbed while walking past the damascus gate!
its scary...but does not look like peace will come, till moshiach comes anyway! |
