There is something called national security, which Palestinians screwed up at when the borders were open for them last time. Egypt gave them the chance to come into Egypt, and buy their food, and it was sheer chaos.

In addition, there is foreign relations, we signed an agreement with Israel we cannot break. We also have to keep our relation with The States stable, because they give us aid, which is quite important to Egyptians. You really need to read some politics, to understand how it's going. It's not a fight in the street, and everyone has to take sides, and Egypt chose to be on Israel's side. It's deeper than this.

Have you ever heard of Economic Hitmen and Jackals? and what they did to Omar Torrijos? How he died in the 80's? Do you know why he died or who killed him? If you do, but you still don't get why our leaders are "supporting" Israel, then you need to do something about your stupidity and ignorance. =)

Egypt does not support Israel. They attacked Israel many times and they do nothing to stop terror attacks being planned from inside their country. Egypt used to occupy Gaza but they forced Israel to take it for a "peace agreement" that is not worth the paper it is written on. Gaza belongs to Egypt not Israel and they should be responsible for it.

Your question is obviously 1 sided and pointed in a certain direction. You are wondering why Egypt doesnt attack Israel because they should destroy the entire country in your opinion. Well the answer is simple. Egypt attacked Israel many times, they lost each time. The last time they lost the Suez canal and all the Sinai peninsula so they will not try again. They are paid billions of dollars every year by the US so they will not fight Israel (Egypt #2 US recipient of foreign military aid). Israel has defeated every country that has attacked, Israel is here to stay so just get used to it, accept it and start working to a 2 state solution instead of trying to destroy Israel.

If arabs put as much effort into building their own country up as they did into destroying the country of Israel, they would have a very nice rich country for Palestine now!

Egypt does not support israel on plastine the issue is Egypt has long sight not like others, also there is a peace deal we respect although the israelean do not respect it, egypt is trying to find peacful result to the disaster going on in Palastine, ppl who don't see this have short sight that's it

Because Israel provides jobs for millions of Egyptians through tourism, they are our neighbor and never started problems with us since we been at peace.

And we hate Gazans because they kidnap Egyptian women and murder people in the Sinai to rob them. I'm tired of seeing them in the newspaper for killing another 70 year old man just to take his 20 pound money. Israel can do whatever they want to them for all I care. My interest is Egypt. Egypt comes first before some gypsy palestinians who want us all to die fighting Israel for there sake just so there corrupt leaders can take over.

Ok you need to understand something about politics...

If that country is corrupt or has a dictator..

that means what the dictator does, doesn't necessarly have to be the people's opinion.

So,

Hosni Mubarak is against Palestine..
but the people aren't

in the end...HE has the overall choice, so he is the hypocrite and deciever, NOT the Egyptians.

Egypt is the land of the Pharoahs, the oppresive reputation of the Pharoahs is well known and so the legacy continues with Egypt's corrupt leaders the people are afraid to speak out in case they're imprisoned or much worse and sadly this is common place in most if not all Muslim countries and the implementation of Islam is limited to the desires of the ruler in question, in some countries you can't grow a beard without being suspected of being a terrorist, other countries women can't wear hijab and yet some other countries claim to rule by shariah but they don't and when questioned the questioner dissappears and no one hears from them again in many unreported cases.
