Why has the South African category degenerated into a slugfest.?

Its hard to keep up what this category was when new people come in and the old contributers seem to disappear. Like you, you disappeared for quite a while, Xeek aka Joe dirt seems gone and so many others. I myself left for a bit, obviously miffed by some of the idiocy in here. There are nice and sincere contributers who are intelligent Hero, its just some get put off by these postings.

Do most even know what we used to have, pending from last year to early this year? The days of the UA when we used to stand together (even if one wasnt a member but being South African qualified). The days when we could look forward to your long, long jokes or short SA quizzes. When Brad and Alf used to post more questions than anyone else, when we could argue but be friends still at the end of the day. When Tshepo used to borrow money and piss off Smiley. When everyone still had their original name instead of the new ones.....

Having gone for at least 2 weeks, I myself am shocked at the major changes here. It didnt take long... wow!

Unfortunately the intellictuals of South Africa are the hardworking class, while the idiots and slackers (most probably school leavers with a job in the civil service) have the time on their hands to ***** around on the web insulting people under the guise of anonimity.

I agree with you. While there were a lot of disagreements, at least, we were guaranteed less rhetoric full of nothing but sandy ideas. We knew that while there were two extremes (left and right) we would leave the site having learned something new. People would at worst think what to say. There was a general agreement that while some differed vastly with Bull, Brad, Alf, Wrrr..., Ayiza etc there would be good points raised (except that some felt that these members are racist) in almost every posting.

Maybe the turn of events is a sign of real life in South Africa. Good people have been replaced by criminals. People feel encaged in their own space. Here, in our virtual life, intelligent discussions have made way for pure trash. We feel encaged in our own thinking. How sad!!!!

I agree. Unfortunately the forum has become host to intellectual dwarves who shall remain nameless, as naming them only legitimizes their worthless existences.
The answer calling for an 8% cap on white responses to questions is a good example of this.

I agree. I've ot been here that long, but it was still nice in the beginning when there were only a few that kept on harping on racism. Now there's so many and it's getting tiring!

It just makes this section open for people to abuse others and I'm sick of it.

You have a very good point. Correct me if I'm wrong.... Every racist, slandering question I come across, are posted by blacks... Maybe that's why it became a political slandering area.

I logged on to the site thinking WoW... since I am not living in SA anymore I would love to beable to chat to people from there, exchange ideas, jokes, problems...how exciting. To hell with all of that. All I could find was racist comments. Black this white that. Black blaming white and vice versa.
IS THIS NEVER GONNA STOP?
Why donÂ´t we all just stop turning everything into a question of colour. We are the ones that are suppose to make the change, but if we canÂ´t even have a debate without bringing the colour question up, then we should rather not say anything.
I am proud of my country, my colour, my people and our history. We should all be. No one should ever be made feel inferior or blamed for errors their ancestors committed. We should learn from them.

I tend to see it in the light that South African broadcasting and Media is controlled by the ANC and therefore only their views or perversion of evets is published or broadcast. This is ideal in the Communist World as they wish to control everything. In fact they are even at this stage attempting to control Internet access to South Africans.
The www therfore provides an opportunity to show other facts and history and perhaps awaken some to the manipulation and controlling manner of the ANC. The racists have their own agenda but you would be a fool if you were to believe they are not expressing the views of the majority who voted the ANC regime into power.
